An open letter to your Excellency*

I wish to congratulate the president of the republic of Uganda; for your foresight wisdom that you have exhibited in the fight of COVID-19, that to date, uganda has not recorded a single mortality of the 88 confirmed cases.
I was born in the post liberation war that you crafted to eventually capture power in 1986. Since then, you have been clinging on the wheel as fountain of honour.
I started school (primary one) just two years before you introduced UPE. With this programme uganda has recorded a commanding increase in the literacy levels, evidenced by thousands of graduates from the numerous universities currently in Uganda each year. These universities produce a variety of sections of capable human resource in the different fields. I graduated with a bachelor of Drama and Film from MUK.
Referring to your last two state dresses 28th April 2020, and 1st May 2020, you arrogantly broke the heart of the ARTS, when you mentioned how useless *Shakespearian work* would be at the Owen falls (Nalubaale dam), to interject the floating island. In the due course nullifying the relevance of Arts in development of a country like Uganda. One wonders why you keep provoking ARTS. One of the major Sectors that accrue a large potion of revenue to our government is the Tourism sector (largely an art) in the US, the Film/ Entertainment industry employs a large percentage of the youth; a sector that your government has largely ignored to explore its potential in curbing unemployment levels in the talented youth in Uganda. I am a deputy PR of The Theatrical Association of Uganda. An Umbrella body of performing Arts groups (Drama). By sampling kampala alone has over 200 groups, with each employing around 35 young talented population. Simple maths can solve that. If you added dance groups, music groups, and the many other sections of the arts around the entire country, you realise that you are insult a bigger flock, and also implying that schools
