{UAH} THIS IS GOOD TO SEE!

This picture is good to see if the meeting, or meetings, is being done with good intentions. There is a lot of water on the bridge, but we can still cross to the other side if all Ugandans work together. BTW, I'm not a bad guy. I was among the first people to openly request Bobi to work with Besigye, but a lot of his supporters just insulted and called us " moles". We did this for a while till when we gave up. As the Baganda say, " Bwosika ekiitagya diba lyankonko......"

Worse off, Bobi's people started attacking Besigye online 24/7, and that was totally unacceptable. Bobi himself ignited more fire by attacking Besigye at the DP reunion, and that is when some of us totally gave up on him.

Having said that, I am happy Bobi is retracting his steps, he has visited Besigye- I hope he agrees to work with him, and not just take photos with him. I hope he listens to Besigye, or rather they listen to each other. Besigye has got a good head on his shoulders. And please, stop calling us Besigye fanatics-- I am not a fanatic of anyone-- I disagree with people principally!

Uganda politics has a nostalgic feel for me, since their concerns take me back to what our people are going through, though I am not in the country myself. Ideas and personalities are not some kind of hermetic world, because a lot of people have gone into office because of who they are, rather than their ideas, and the vice versa is true. For instance, most politicians in Africa are elected into office, not basing on their manifestos, but because people simply like them.

I am going to avoid the past of what was said, or not said, or whether Besigye and Bobi have been meeting in the past, because it will not benefit anybody. One thing I know for sure that if the opposition was a business entity, its now operating in losses, not profits—whatever Besigye had built over the years has been weakened, and we should be discussing on how to get back to that point and more, rather than a blame game. What matters, though, is that the two parties responsible are seemingly talking, and talking is good!
