{UAH} When Sheila Gashumba was jobless & her dad had to bench NTV for years to have her employed

As many have to wait until after graduation to land their jobs, Sheilah Gashumba landed her first job when still in her nursery.

She was employed by WBS TV as a presenter for Kids Corner.

From here, she transitioned to presenting their Teens Club show. But when the station began sinking, she joined the biggest TV station in the country, NTV where she was employed as one of the hosts of T-Nation program.

When both grew past the teens stage, they had to be replaced. It is at this stage that Sheila became unemployed for the first time.

On being laid off her co-presenter, Kleith teamed up with Slyvia owori and others and came up with style project.

Kleith's earlier return to TV didn't go down well with Sheila. It put the two former friends and workmates on collision that their beef even spilled into the public domain.

Nonetheless Sheila continued coming to NTV much as she had no job there. She had already been replaced by Crystal Panda.

"She would come and just sit there all day with hope management would get some where to fix her," an employee who was working at NTV at the time intimated to us.

Her dad, Frank Gashumba later joined her on her journeys to Serena, the home of NTV.

"Her dad benched Aggie Konde (the former CEO of NTV) for his daughter to be added on The Beat."

But NTV The Beat already had its presenter at the time, Douglas Lwanga. To fix her on the show, management came up with a new segment, Exclusive Access. On Exclusive Access, Sheila would chip in with entertainment news and gossip.

But unlike before, she was less visible here as her segment was just a few minutes. Her dad continued benching Konde, requesting for a slot on NTV Style Project presented by her former workmate, Kleith.

Gashumba's prayers were finally answered when Kleith's nudes leaked.

When her nudes leaked, she resigned from her job on Style Project on moral grounds. That is how Sheila found herself on NTV Style Project.

"I don't know how many times frank benched for that job. Now calling it peanuts yet at that time it was everything to her is acting kiddish and stupid."

A few years after working on the program, the company came up with a new policy following a merger of all the NMG media in Uganda.

As part of this merger non staff, mostly presenters who only came to the station for about one or two hours were to earn per show.

For her case, she was to earn Shs100,000 per show.

She worked for sometime but after hooking moneybag, God's Plan, the money at NTV Style Project stopped making any sense. That is how she quit.

But unlike her colleagues like MC Kats and Douglas Lwanga, she says don't expect watching her on the Kamwokta based TV station, saying it is upcoming.

"Okay so why did @DouglasLwanga leave the biggest station to another upcoming station!! Come on! Use your common sense!!"
