{UAH} Vision Group employees subjected to huge salary cuts
As coronavirus continues to ravage the economy, it appears none will be spared.
Several companies have either started laying off their employees or subjecting them to pay cuts.
The latest victims are employees of Vision Group which owns New Vision, Bukedde, Bukedde TV, Urban TV, XFM and Bukedde Radio.
According to an internal memo issued out Thursday to employees by the company's CEO, Robert Kabushenga, employees earning Shs19million and about will be subjected to a 60% pay cut, those earning between Shs8million – 19million will take a 45% pay cut while those below Shs8million will be subjected to a 40% pay cut.
"This position will remain in place until further notice. Full details will be communicated in a personal letter to each staff member," reads the memo.
Buganda Kingdom had already taken similar measures while some like Ndejje and Sheraton Hotel had laid off their employees.
