{UAH} DID YOU KNOW THAT THE WORD JUSTICE REFERS TO A PERSON?

DID YOU KNOW THAT THE WORD JUSTICE REFERS TO A PERSON?

Yes!!! While many of us think of Justice as the just and fair treatment of people. Some people say Lady Justice when referring to that statute of a woman who carries a weighing scale (Minzani) and a Sword to show that justice is about the protection of those in need and punishment of the bad-mannered ones, fairness, and equality. This statute is blindfolded to mean that justice is blind to status and serves everyone.

But the Justice we are talking about today is a title to a person. You know that person who has wears a white wig hair and listens to arguments between you and your neighbor to decide who is right and wrong.

In Uganda, a judge of the High court, Court of Appeal, Constitutional Court, and the Supreme Court is referred to as "Justice of the Court." The head of all the Justices in Uganda is called the Chief Justice. The outgoing chief justice is called Justice Bart Magunda Katureebe.
