"NOBODY DESERVES THE RIGHT TO BE PRESIDENT FOR LIFE!"
By: Frank M Gashumba
If the oppressed can't dislodge the dictator out of power, then God surely deserves to intervene.
I have keenly studied African leaders, most especially those from poor backgrounds and I can now conclusively confirm that people from extremely poor backgrounds shouldn't be allowed to lead any country!
Case study: A country called Burundi; one of the poorest countries on planet earth,
a poor man who lived in a muzigo (two roomed rented house) and would share toilet and bathroom with more than 10 neighbors around him from nowhere propels from that lifestyle and ends up at State House.
Pierre Nkuruziza aka Sula Kato was given the opportunity to lead a poor country for 15 years and instead of leading this country by uplifting the lives of the poor, he instead used the opportunity to loot the very people he was supposed to be leading into prosperity.
He tried to amend the constitution after ruling for 15 years and when he failed, he manipulated the constitution, creating a new title for himself as the Supreme Leader!
And he thereafter awarded himself with super abnormal retirement benefits which included a half a million US dollars (UGX2b) as his salary per month for life, security detail as that of a sitting President; (most sitting African Presidents move with a convoy of more than 40 cars and at least 3,000 guards).
Please note that a sitting US President earns around $400,000 annually; the world's super power mind you.
Up to date, I don't understand why African leaders are too greedy to the extent of ignoring the plight of their own country men!
Sometimes, I hear African leaders proudly saying that they are the only ones who can hold the country together.
If that's true, then that leader has totally failed to build a nation.
How can an individual become an institution?
If the oppressed can't force these vampires out of power, then God will surely intervene and Burundi can sure attest to that!
A man who had awarded himself super abnormal fortunes at the expense of the poor; as you read this, he is lying alone and helpless in the mortuary with no bodyguard, no AC, no gold plated seats while the people he robbed are walking freely on the streets of Bujumbura.
Surely, one day God will listen and answer the prayers of the oppressed across Africa!
Most of these African rulers who have looted and stolen from the poor, pretend to be God-fearing in the public; most of them are very good at quoting Bible and Quran verses, but privately they kill, murder, fornicate, loot and do all sorts of evil.
In other words, their words are a total contrast of their actions. I hear Nkuruziza was a Mulokole (Born again Christian) who could lead prayers. But the bible also warns us in Mathew 7:15 that "Watch out for the false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves."
To you vampires, you may move with convoys; you may sleep with guns under your pillow but when time comes, you'll go!
The recent study indicates that 98% of politicians who steal and rob from the poor; their fortunes don't go beyond the 3rd generation of their descendants!
Back here in Uganda, these vampires who have looted and stolen everything from the poor; their ill-gotten fortune will not go beyond their 3rd generation.
Can someone educate me on this; where do people get this greed?
