{UAH} 2020 UNAA Trade and Investments Forum

The Trade and Investments Forum
at the
32nd Annual Convention of the Ugandan North American Association
September 4 – 6, 2020

The Goodwill (Uganda) Ceramic Company is a foreign investment success story in Uganda.  As you read this profile, ask yourself the following questions.

1.      Where did the ceramic wall and floor tiles used in construction in Uganda all these past years come from?
2.      The fact is that there has been a significant demand for wall and floor tiles in Uganda for decades.  So why is it that this market was not satisfied by a local Ugandan manufacturer?
3.      Now that Goodwill Ceramics has shown that good quality wall and floor tiles can indeed be manufactured in Uganda, what other currently imported high-demand products can be produced in Uganda?  For example, how about ceramic toilets, sinks, bathtubs, etc.?

Please join us on September 4th, 2020, for an in-depth discussion on post Covid-19 investment opportunities in Uganda.

The Goodwill (Uganda) Ceramics Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer of ceramic wall and floor tiles and other building products.

The company was established in 2017 and is majority-owned by the Yang Zhen Company and Wenzhou Yirong Construction Co. Ltd. – both from China.

Developed with a 30 million US dollar initial investment, the company's production facility covers an area of roughly 270 thousand square meters (66 acres) and is located in the Liao Shen Industrial Park in Kapeeka, Nakaseke District.  The plant has about one thousand employees, of whom the overwhelming majority are Ugandans from the local area, and produces 40,000 square meters (about 430,000 sf) of wall and floor times daily.

In addition to servicing the local market demands, Goodwill also exports products to neighboring countries.
