 Banyarwanda Lukiiko representative vows to support Buganda development agenda

On Monday all roads led to Bulange Mengo were the Lukiiko was set to pass their 2020/21 budget alongside swearing in the recently appointed Lukiiko representatives by his highness the Kabaka of Buganda.

And as expected the Lukiiko treasurer Waggwa Nsibirwa read his budget estimates of 109bn of which members passed very well without delay of which function was preceded with the official swearing in of the newly appointed Lukiiko members representing different interest groups of persons.

Among those sworn in was the representative of the Banyarwanda community in Uganda Mr. Kayitana Simon who thanked the Kabaka for choosing him to represent the Banyarwanda community saying he was overwhelmed by the appointment and pledged to work hard and ensure that the warm relationship his people enjoy with the Buganda kingdom was further strengthened for the common good of the two populations.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT AGENDA; A cross section smartly dressed  women leaders emerging from the Lukiiko hall shortly after attending  the 29th Lukiiko meeting in Mengo.  

Mr.Kayitana pointed out that he would work with all the stakeholders both within the Lukiiko and outside in ensuring that the economic development of the mighty Kingdom of Buganda is upheld.

'Am very happy that his majesty the Kabaka decided to appoint me to serve on this Lukiiko and I do promise to work hard through one of the seven committees on which I would be deployed in ensuring that our traditional shared  interests   are protected and upheld for the common good of the people of these two sister communities  that do share a long history of achievements' noted Kayitana.

The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga congratulated the new members and urged them to serve their Kabaka without fear or favor and ensure that they generate new ideas that are geared towards fulfilling the five strategic development pillars of Buganda.
