{UAH} Here She Comes - Lira City

Annet,

Language is a medium of communication, the speaker identifies the best language to use to be understood.

On the other hand, is there a single district in Uganda inhabited by people of same language so that it would be possible to use that language without excluding others? Or is there one local language to use as observed by Dr.Owor with our neighbors?

Obsession with English is dangerous. We had a marriage in my community where we were giving out cows for my nephew's wife. Though the inlwas were all Iteso, they insisted that we use English because they are "educated." I pleaded with the guys to use the local language but they bragged more wondering why we didn't go to school with all the available good schools in Teso. We just refused to use English. Night came and most of them slept in my house but they didn't know the owner, for me I went to my other home. The following day the meeting could not start until I returned. I drove to my home as people waited at my brother's home. After checking my home I crossed to my brother's place to be welcomed. I was dressed formally that time unlike the previous day.

When we assembled to continue with the negotiations, the chairman who was vocal the previous night was so humbled, he apologized even before I said anything. He said that they were just simple people who should be forgiven in case they annoyed us. I think they must have been told by their daughter what we were and my delay must have given then to inquire who I was and the shock of realizing that they had berated more learned people than members of their team.  Using the local language in one's home area enables you to reach your people's hearts, a deep connection.

Annet, you say Dr. Aceng would have offered better service to her people and Uganda at large if she continued working in ministry of health than joining politics. That's probably true. However, what about Dr. Besigye, Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, Engineer Amuriat, and many others, by your observation on Dr. Aceng, it implies  our health and transportation services would have been great  if they stayed in their professions or you don't think they aren't professional enough to offer their people and Uganda quality service?

Moreover, some of them have spent over 40 years not serving their people in their professions yet they also join Ugandans decrying the poor state of our health and transportation services; isn't that a contradiction? And here you make great ideas but have you ever asked Dr.Besigye why he is not working at Kitojo Hospital or Mbarara Regional Hospital?

Hmmmmmm! Blacks were really thoroughly colonized!
What is wrong with people speaking their local languages?
In Uganda we have failed to have a language that everybody can use
to communicate hence the belief that English should be that language.
Look at Kenya,Tanzania,Congo and even Rwanda and Burundi, must everybody
speak in the Colonial Language in order for  Hoi polloi to understand them?
Annet, what have you been vaping these few days?
