{UAH} SHOULD I JUDGE NYAKANA AGAIN!?

During the days of Hajj Ish'aq Kamoga,Kololo High while still at Kisementi-Kamwokya was a boxing giant of a school.When I joined this school around the April of 1989,Godfrey Nyakana was a S.5 student.He had become a very prominent boxer and was already on the national boxing team.I had heard about him before I joined the school because boxing by then was a very popular sport in this country and I was therefore very eager to see Nyakana.

I was still a small boy and because I wasn't widely travelled or even exposed then,I thought the name NYAKANA was for Northern Ugandans.

So,I stood at the boxing shade for about two weeks watching boxing training while waiting for "my man".That they had gone for some tournament.

Kololo High had other celebrities then such that in Nyakana's absence,you could admire them;Vicky and Nakawunde and some other girl of the Ebonies,athlete Robert Ogwal(later Rasta Rob M.C),the late Umar Katumba of the Emitoes band,our Head girl Munira Ali of UTV's World Panorama,Kuku Ranjit a future rally driver,boxers Fred Muteweeta and his brother Lubulwa,Professional boxer Wayigo living in West Germany then but always visiting our school to train with the other boxers.Etc.

Other children used to come driving their cars and parked in the yard the whole day and we used to look at them admiringly.

One day,Nyakana came.A brown handsome young man about 19.His left hand seemed to have earlier gotten broken from around the elbow joint and terribly curved outwards.He was putting on a T-Shirt with the acronym UABA(Uganda Amatuer Boxing Association which later became UABF with "F" for Federation).Soft spoken but rarely laughed.He was to me tough.

He was not from the north!He was a Mutooro(Hope Iam not being sectarian here).

He is standing for Lord Mayorship!I would wish well for my OB.But can he manage Kampala at the level of a Lord Mayor even where Lukwago is!?May be Iam harshly judging him.

I after all judged him to be coming from the north but he let me down by looking a Mutooro all the way😂😂😂
