On the surface, this amounts to a tit-for-tat, after Kenya omitted Tanzanian airlines from the list that Nairobi recently permitted to resume flying to Kenya. If you dig deeper, you come up with a worrisome read.

Kenya's decision to block Tz flights makes sense, considering how casually Tanzania has handled the Covid-19 outbreak. Nairobi wanted evidence that Tanzania was managing its Coronavirus cases with the seriousness that the pandemic requires.

So, rather than meet the challenge, Tz threw a tantrum, first by blocking a Kenyan government plane, carrying the official Kenyan delegation to the funeral services of former president, Benjamin Mkapa, from landing in Dar!
