{UAH} Zari asked one question;

COPIED
Zari asked one question; it has exposed us as a country in many different ways; tribalistic, ignorant, uninformed and extremely intolerant.
What all of us as Ugandans must learn is to respect one's choice whether it disgusts or unsettles you. What we ought to strive for is whether we do have an enabling environment to achieve our goals and aspirations.
From my point of view, there are people that don't expect to be questioned or even be challenged. I get shocked when I see such a mentality on this planet earth. Those who expect not be questioned or even challenged I do ask of them to find new space on Jupiter or mars.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are not in a duck nation where one-way movement in queue is only expected.
The relationship between the question that Zari and Basoga I don't even see at all. I know we are used to paying to attend tribal comedy skits, throwing tribal jokes that undermine one tribe but sets another above the other. At the end of our laughter of those sad jokes there are ramifications.
We will never conquer our challenges as a country if tribal lenses still have a center piece in our struggles. We will not be taken seriously if we shield our leaders from scrutiny.
We must accept that all citizens of our country do have equal rights to determine who our leaders or leader will be and it is within their best interest to scrutinize them, challenge them and question their strategy, ideas and policies if there are any.
There is no candidate that is immune of scrutiny and there are no chosen citizens that qualify to mount those challenges or scrutiny. Once you aspire to lead be prepared to grow a thick skin, but be humane and humble enough to know that people have suffered enough, so they have the right to scrutinize and question their potential leaders.
If you shield your leader from scrutiny, you are indeed shielding him or her from wining a new supporter or potential voter.
To supporters that love their aspirants, when you think that your choice leader has been challenged, be informed enough to unmount the challenge; arm yourselves with facts about your aspirant, data if any; don't arm yourselves with obscenities to throw around at the person who is challenging your choice leaders.
Obscenities and abuses don't win a debate, they make it look more uncivil and uglier.
If your rebuttal to any civil challenge is compounded with obscenities and abuses then you belong somewhere else not in any civilized society of people that believe in the market place of ideas.
Good weekend for all!
