{UAH} 2021 POLLS: WHY THE WEST PREFERS BOBI WINE OVER DR BESIGYE

Ever since Uganda adopted multi-party politics, the west has always picked an opposition side to sponsor against the ruling government. They always look for someone with their interest at heart, many times they use their proxies (CSOs) within the country to drum support for the chosen opposition candidate.

When Besigye came to the limelight in 2001, they saw a new toy-boy on the block to use in their regime change agenda in Africa and Uganda in particular, he was promoted, funded given visas and air tickets to move around the western capitals preaching his messages against the regime in Kampala to whoever cared to listen. All his activities within Uganda and outside were given massive and on spot free air coverage, foreign journalists were always moving with him 24/7 not to dare miss any action. He was involved in violent and defiant activities that led to his arrests simply to boost his ratings here and beyond and foreign funds kept flowing in as he promised regime change in a few days. He however kept registering losses and going to courts to justify his dismal performance despite all the effort by foreign sponsors to make sure he wins.

They paid his party's legal fees in all these election petitions he kept filing,  and results continued to be the same, as he kept losing these court cases too.

Then in 2015 came in Hon. Amama Mbabazi who promised the west that he knew the incumbent in and out and asked to be supported, promising to cause change. Together they moved across European cities and met several lobbyists and negotiators to come up with a single candidate in vain, this did not please the sponsors as they envisaged another defeat and lost opportunity and they were right.

Besigye was defeated for the fourth time, this time around he was left alone and staged a political comedy skit in Nakivubo stadium assisted by his handbag carrier Erias Lukwago– he swore himself as the president, thinking that after crying very loud about rigging and calling for foreign intervention, a miracle would happen for him and we get a Libya or Venezuela scenario but this also failed after his sponsors abandoned him, they also refused to fund his election petition and the reason Besigye never petitioned court but supported Mbabazi's petition.

He also expected his local supporters to join him in his theatricals in vain, they were simply tired of his empty promises and arrogance and thinking that he was alpha and omega of opposition in Uganda.

Then 2017 happened when a by-election was announced in Kyadondo constituency after FDC party member lost an election petition filed by Mr. Sitenda Sebalu of NRM. Bobi wine declared his intention to stand and was supported by all those who loved his music not because he would be a great debater on the floor, which he is not but for love of his music, he got a lot of support from his music funs and even NRM big wigs who did have an axe to grind with Sebalu and Bobi wine ended up an accidental member of parliament. The support he got from the music lovers that catapulted him into parliament excited him and he aimed for higher office and he declared his intentions and pitied himself and supporters again security agencies and finally, Arua events happened and he was arrested.

This is when the western funders realized that they can exploit hi youthfulness and political ignorance for their regime change games in Uganda since the old guards had let them down and wasted their effort and money.

They found a legal team for him and after his release visas were organized for him to meet his new masters in the guise of seeking medication for missing kidneys, Bobi wine was henceforth born and later copied ANCs Youthful Malema methods and people power pressure group was established, this new group replaced the defiant and radical FDC group and there was a lot of bitter exchange of words between Besigye group and Bobi wine group we all saw what happened in Bulange when Besigye was attacked by people power goons police had to intervene to rescue Besigye and supporters.

Bobi wine now had become the new toy boy for the regime change agents, foreign travels and interviews that used to be organized for Besigye now belonged to Bobi wine, he met Washington political mafias, LGBT groups, who decided to bankroll him as long as he played ball.

A new order was made for all CSOs in the country and embassies to drop Besigye for the adopted kid Bobi wine, to them, Besigye had served his purpose, it was time for fresh blood, a short leadership course was organized for him by the LGBT lobbyist in Washington capital and many other foreign trips so he could be introduced to new masters and also to pick instruction manual.

Just this week, NUP leadership met a number of women CSOs for brainstorming on what to include in NUP`s manifesto and budgeting, this may be the first time CSOs have come out to publicly participate in the formulation of a political party`s manifesto and budgeting, this is so because the funders know how poor NUP is terms of policy formulation and manifesto making so the need for CSOs initiative in the policy and manifesto formulation, however, it should be remembered that these are the so-called non-partisan organizations, but since the new directive, many of them are now bold enough to finally show their true colors and what side of the coin they belong to.

That is how Besigye lost his number one spot to a new toyboy (Bobi wine) and now when you see RWI and GLISS publishing polls that show him ahead of Besigye, It is because the new instructions dictate that they promote him as the new alternative they have been convinced that population demography in the country favors their project, so all CSOs Must channel their effort and focus on making sure that wine is the product to sell and not Besigye, they also don't want Besigye to be on the ballot as that would complicate things for the new project since he still has some loyalist who may not actually go with Bobi, thus polls MUST be published to indicate that he is a spent force on Uganda's political arena.

There is also a media house in Kamwokya that has been given a lot of money for the same purpose promote Bobi wine at a very opportunity, this is strategically done by this media house and its love for money has made it compromise its original values, it's not only a breeding ground for opposition especially people power but also a conduit of foreign propaganda against Uganda.

Bobi Wine is now the selling opposition brand and Besigye has been relegated to the political limbo and he isn't a happy man at all, his limelight has been high jacked in order to promote wine, his source of foreign funds all have been halted and is the reason we are seeing a lot of exodus of his party members who want to tap into foreign funds flowing into Kamwokya not that they see Bobi wine as a presidential material but he is a cash cow now for them, and he will find himself alone and miserable man early next year when all of them enter parliament as he goes back to his fast-fading musical fame rejected angry man, and back to his old habit of drug abuse, only that this time it may take him earlier to meet his maker as he will abuse it in frustration.

So Ugandans should expect to see many bold moves by CSOs and foreign embassies involvement in the forthcoming elections. We have also been told of how many musicians have been bought off and told to support Bobi wine or else they won`t be getting visas to some countries in the near future, and we will be seeing an influx of musicians and comedians to NUP offices.

Just watch as CSOs breastfeed their new baby as dictated by the masters for a cheque leaf.
