The Jews: Who are they?

- Listening to a BBC World Service documentary about the scientists and university research that went into the discovery of nuclear fission and, 75 years ago in 1945, the explosion of the world's first atomic bombs, my mind has been sent spinning.
I'm trying to piece together several ancient writings and make sense of these cryptic writings, in light of modern history:
1 a) The Old Testament Biblical book of Proverbs states in chapter 25:2 that "It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter."
1 b) Who are these "kings" with the mental power to search out or discover knowledge that God has concealed from humanity?
2 a) What did the New Testament epistle to the Romans in 3:2 mean when it said that to the Jews "were committed the oracles of God."?
2 b) What are these "oracles" of God? Scientific knowledge? The secrets of the physics behind the universe?
3) How is it that practically every creative thought, theory and scientific breakthrough that both created or shaped the modern world was by the above people - Karl Marx's Communism; Sigmund Freud's theory of psychoanalysis; Leonard Kleinrock, who created the Internet; the Jews who created the American film industry in Hollywood and the Jewish actresses who laid the groundwork for India's huge "Bollywood" film industry; the Jewish scientists who split the atom and ushered in the Nuclear Age; the Jews who created the huge digital empires Google and Facebook, created the world's most-used mobile operating system Android; and the Jews who gave birth to the rock and roll music industry?
4) What is the connection between the Bible's Book of Esther and the European Jews' discovery of the properties of the atom, the neutron, and the U.S. government's Manhattan Project that resulted in the production of the world's first atomic bombs in 1945?
That's what's spinning around my mind this Sunday afternoon.
I hope I find the answers.
