{UAH} MAO SIGNS OFF KACITA’S ISSA SEKITO, FRONTS HIM FOR LORD MAYORSHIP

Norbert Mao is clearly determined to show renegade party members who have lately been walking out on DP to join Bobi Wine's NUP that there can be life without them. And he is seemingly determined to forge new partnerships and do things that can create some new momentum for the country's oldest party

The latest reaching Mulengera News shows that Mao is finalizing secret talks with the top leadership of Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) to release their man Issa Sekito so that he joins DP and becomes the party's flag bearer for Kampala Lord Mayorship.

"It's still a top secret between Mao, SG Gerald Siranda and a few others and the plan is to unveil Issa Sekito at a grand ceremony at the party's new headquarters in Mengo," says a knowledgeable insider adding that with Jose Chameleon walking out on DP to drown into the NUP wave, Mao remains disturbed seeing the possibility of DP doing without fielding a candidate against Erias Lukwago for the City Hall job. "That is why they have assured Sekito of the party ticket without competition. It's something very exciting because he is a high profile person with a lot of network in the business community implying fundraising can't be a problem once the party has such a personality. We are certain he can eclipse many other candidates in the race and thereby creating visibility for the DP brand." It's a developing story Mulengera News promise to keep updating.

In a related development, DP has fished another big fish by the names of city tycoon Moses Kalungi aka Bill Gates (younger brother to tycoon Godfrey Kirumira) who will be running against Makindye Mayor Kasirye Nganda Mulyanyama of the Kwekubako nfufu fame. Mao remains furious because not only has Mulyanyama (an excellent exclusive Luganda speaker) defected to NUP he has also been abusing him on Luganda radio talk shows. At some point, he was an envoy in Mao's office as DP President and it's the position he was holding as of 2016 when the very sarcastic Mulyanyama (an excellent deal-maker) first succeeded becoming the Makindye Division Mayor.
