Stacey Abrams Shown No Mercy From Doug Collins and Others After Kamala Harris VP Announcement

As Bonch reported earlier, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) has been declared the grand prize winner in the Joe Biden veepstakes.

I’m still laughing over the New York Times’ description of Harris as a “pragmatic moderate”, but I digress.

After the news broke, I checked out the Twitter machine to see what people were saying about Biden’s selection of Harris as his running mate. What I saw was that while Kamala Harris’ name was trending, another woman who had been in contention for the vice-presidential nomination was getting even more mentions:

Failed 2018 Democratic Georgia gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams.

Abrams, you’ll recall, has refused to concede that she lost the 2018 Georgia governor’s race over a year and a half after Brian Kemp won it. She’s repeatedly stated in one form or another that the election was stolen from her, and is treated with the utmost reverence by journalists who tell us refusing to accept election results is a threat to democracy or something – but only when a Republican does it.

Ms. Abrams made no secret of how much she wanted the vice-presidential nomination, aggressively lobbying for it through Biden’s campaign surrogates and the media and then laughably denying she was actively seeking it when asked about it by reporters.

With all of that in mind, you’ve probably already guessed that Abrams took quite a bit of dunking this afternoon after the news broke about Harris’ nomination.

Leading the way was Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA), who epically trolled Abrams with this tweet:

"Yes, what's the process for requesting a VP nomination recount?" pic.twitter.com/oEXwoM7WDF

There were so many others along those lines:

I believe Stacey Abrams will be the final judge of whether or not she won the VP race https://t.co/SFHRZeN5sj

That probably won't stop Stacey Abrams from claiming she was picked by Biden. https://t.co/veFnG7mj43

She is still Joe Biden's vice presidential pick, don't worry https://t.co/sqHlO4er42

Stacey Abrams has announced that if Biden wins she will be serving as imaginary VP, abandoning her role as imaginary governor.

Now Stacey Abrams can have both governor and vice president on her resume. https://t.co/wXRPRnmyeP

The silver lining for Abrams here is that even if she loses that “lawsuit” over the Democratic VP nomination, she IS still the governor of Georgia after all:

Now that Kamala Harris has been picked as Biden’s running mate Stacey Abrams can resume her position as Governor of Georgia.
