{UAH} Who are the meal card politicians?

In his own words, Honorable Nobert Mao refers to some politicians in Uganda as 'meal card politicians'. Today I am on this street to augment on Mao's assertion and accusation that some people are indeed meal card politicians.

Let us begin with Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye and the politicians who have won seats in parliament, local and City councils because of clinging on to him like creeping plants on to a pole prior to the elections. These people are fond of associating with Dr. Kizza Besigye only when they are aspiring for political positions but when they win and he loses unfairly to Museveni, these politicians will comfort themselves in the positions of power and leave Besigye to protest alone or with a few committed strugglers on the streets. I will not mention names of these opportunists because they are known to everyone who has been following the political developments in Uganda. These are the same opportunists who heap all the prejudiced, frivolous and unreasonable pasquinades against the four times presidential aspirant for failing to catapult the dictatorship, when he goes out to protest against the injustices with bare knuckles alone. If these politicians who have been creeping on Besigye like passion fruit plants onto a pole in every election period, joined him on the streets to protest against the injustices we are all encapsulated in, Mr. Museveni would be history studied in books.

I see hundreds of them presently snuggling closer into Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu's ribs ahead of the 2021 elections. If Bobi wine isn't careful with these people, after them winning the scrambled positions because of his popularity, and him unfairly losing to the allegedly son of Kaguta because of rigging, bribery and intimidation, they shall ensconce themselves in their couches at home and watch Kyagulanyi and a handful being rained on by bullets and teargas on the streets protesting the unfree and unfair elections. That is if he will gather enough wherewithal to mobilize those who will be unsatisfied with the results to join him on the major streets of cities and towns across the country.

The opportunistic meal card politicians have been the major enemies of the struggle to catapult the dictatorship. All they care about is snuggling into the ribs of the opposition leaders, taking pictures, forcing arrests with them as if they were lied to by the witch doctors and city pastors that it is a way of drinking on the cup of popularity. After they win the contested positions, they fold their hands in despair and watch like spectators only to remember that Museveni is still around in the next election and then look for the most popular opposition figure on whose ship to jump with their smelling opportunism.

I have not seen a politician who mobilizes Ugandans to overwhelmingly come out to vote against Museveni in 2021 scientific elections at the same time beseeching them to be alert to peacefully fill the streets demonstrating against the notorious vice of exchanging votes in the computers of Uganda Electoral commission in favor of the incumbent Mr. Museveni. All these meal card politicians are scrambling for positions and not the biggest enemy of democracy, Mr. Museveni.
