{UAH} ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Court Issues Criminal Summons Against Bobi Wine

Buganda Road court has issued criminal summons against presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine for issuing false information.

According to court summons issued by Chief Magistrate Grade 1, Kyagulanyi is charged with giving false information contrally to Section 115 (a)of the penal code act, obtaining registration by false pretense contrally to section 312 of the penal code act and uttering false documents contrally to section 315and 347 of the penal code act.

"You are here by commanded by the government to appear in this court on 16th day of September 2020 at 10:00 or soon thereafter as the case can be heard".

For the past few weeks, Kyadondo East MP Kyagulanyi has been trending on many social media platforms over the disparities in his age and authenticity of his academic documents.

A sizable number of people on social media have been wondering if Bobi Wine will make it to the 2021 presidential ballot paper after city lawyer, Mr Male Mabirizi, petitioned the Electoral Commission on August 21, demanding to see Bobi Wine's academic papers and seeking a caveat against his nomination.

Mr Mabirizi raised a couple of issues in his petition among which he contends that there is no way Bobi Wine who claims to be 38 years old could have finished his Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) in 1998. The UACE is the minimum requirement for one to run for president.

Logically, the average number of years that a Ugandan spends in school up to that stage means the musician-cum-politician started his school at one year of age, which Mr Mabirizi says is impossible.
