{UAH} *Copied* --- Let what happened in Rushenyi be a lesson to all of us. It doesn't cost anything to be humble.
*Good morning comrades*
The cycle is always the same be it in Rushenyi or Libya.
It all starts as a people revolution and everyone celebrates.
Just like in Libya, thats what we did when Mwesigwa Rukutana joined CA and later parliament in 1998.
Many women called their children Mwesigwa.such was the love.
Behind him were strong names.
The Mwebesas,The Kacooboyes,The Nkabahitas etc.
MR became everyones darling.
I remember after he won the 2001 elections I and my inlaw and some other person took a he goat for him to slaughter.
So many people were gathered at his home and it was like a sea of people. We were told he had been secretly sneaked out of his home and was at Tibisasas place in Nyanga.
When we finally found him, I got a feeling I couldn't describe. Its the day I got to know why women cry when they are happy.
I felt like crying with joy. There was celebration everywhere.Cutting the long story short ,
Yesterday at around 5.30am I witnessed over 100 vehicles depart Ntungamo Town for Rushenyi hooting all the way.
Many people jumped out of their houses half naked in Omungyenyi and Rubaare as it was still very early. Immediately they would all start celebrating. Dance and joy everywhere.by midday Rubaare town was filled with people jubilating in all forms at the news of Mwesigwa Rukutana losing an election.
Then I asked myself what happened to the love people had for him? I started comparing the MR of 1998 and the MR of 2020.They seemed two complete strangers.
The 98 one was a people's person mixing freely, the 2020 moves with a ring of bodyguards .The 98 one wouldn't harm a fly the present one pulls a gun at whoever stands in his way.The 98 one was a brilliant lawyer who used to love debating matters of law, the present one abuses Judges and arrogantly tells them to go and hung.
Who ever said power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely was right. Power had corrupted MR absolutely. Watching a video of him pulling a gun and corking it with occupants in the victim vehicle screaming like Lukwago still sends chills down my spine. He had turned a privilege into a right.
Nobody should stand in his way even if it means leaving a trail of blood. Now he is Prison for the last 2days.The thought of the mighty Mwesigwa Rukutana being told to remove his belt and shoes and entering a confinement room seems like a dream.
But its not a dream. Its real. Let's all learn to be humble. It costs nothing.
