LEGAL ALERT: This month the Constitutional Court in its ruling ordered the Government of Uganda to prioritize and provide sufficient funds in the national budget for maternal health care in the next financial year.
The court further ruled that the Government's omission to adequately provide basic maternal health care services in public health facilities violates the right to health, the right to life, the rights of women in contravention of Article 80A,39,45,22 and 33(1) and (2) respectively.
