DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONDEMNS THE ASSAIL OF NUP OFFICES BY SECURITY APPARATUSES.
The Democratic Party has learnt of the sieging of NUP offices situated in Kamwokya.
As a party that believes in good and democratic governance through institutions and the same being one of the seven values for which the Democratic Party was formed, we condemn the conduct of Uganda Police Force and the UPDF in equal measure with the utmost contempt it deserves.
That said, there is no doubt that such acts of interference by the state in the affairs of registered political parties weakens these Institutions thus undermining the fundamental tenets of democracy which in our well thought opinion should be given no space in Uganda.
Therefore, we do task government to explain the circumstances under which they raided the offices of a registered political party in a manner so villainous.
