I think you are right, that's not news as far as Trump is concerned.

For now it is like saying a dog bit Simon and we expect shocking news. If that was a newspaper headline, I guess few people would buy those papers and even then by only those checking on job advertisements but not because a dog had beaten Simon. 

However, it would be hot news if the headline read: "Trump saved a beautiful lady from rapists without grabbing her by the...," similar to reading or hearing something like "Simon bit a dog," or "Allan touched the leopard's something," that is unusual there.
