President Museveni's Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations, who also doubles as the First Son, Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has warned four-time presidential candidate Kizza Besigye to leave his wife alone.

Besigye alleged that Muhoozi's wife Charlotte Muhoozi was one of the beneficiaries of numerous "urgent procurements" for Covid19 response that didn't follow any procurement procedures.

"Among the bonanza beneficiaries are Mrs Charlotte Keinerugaba (wife to Gen Muhoozi Keinerugaba) and her sister Mrs Ishta Muganga; both ladies being the daughters of Hon Sam Kutesa, Minister of Foreign Affairs," Besigye said.

He added, "Their company, Silverbacks Pharmacy LTD, was contracted to supply and install oxygen plants for Mulago and Entebbe Hospitals at a cost of Shs 6.4 billion. 100% of their invoice was paid by 30th June 2020, but by September, work hadn't commenced, according to Covid19 Interventions Report of October 2020."

In response to Besigye, Muhoozi twitted, "Colonel Besigye, were you a 'Royal' when you came with Mzee Museveni in 1985 to our home in Sweden?"

He added, "You are one of our elders, and we respect you as an elder. If you want to attack me, I'm right here. Leave my wife alone."

On Saturday, Silverbacks dismissed some of Besigye's accusations.
