{UAH} Bobi Wine should use Busabala road to do business not gossip - Museveni
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has taken a swipe at his rival for the presidency, the National Unity Platform candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu who he accuses of spreading propaganda and heading a hate campaign against himself and the NRM government.
The President was Wednesday (December 30, 2020) flagging off construction works for the Najjanankumbi- Busabala road in Wakiso district.
Speaking at a function held at Busabala Primary School, the President asked the residents of the area to use the road for economic activity instead of what he called transporting gossip.
"I ask the people here to utilise this road for developmental purposes- not to transport gossip. This road also leads to a business facility belonging to one of Uganda's artistes, as well as to Kaazi Camping site and beach, what a great opportunity to boost business," Mr Museveni said.
Kyagulanyi, who is also a Member of Parliament for Kyadondo East, owns the popular One Love Beach located in Busabala on the shores of Lake Victoria.
Museveni praised the residents of the area who he said offered land to government to construct the road without compensation.
"I have not seen patriotic people like the residents here, these people offered us land for this project even before we talked of compensation. I promised them I will tell the rest of the world here," he added.
He, however, pledged that government would compensate each person that offered land for construction of the road.
