THE DEATH TRAPS AHEAD OF US, DEATH IS NOT A CHOICE ANYMORE; IT'S SEEMINGLY THE ONLY OPTION***************************
By Gisa Isaac
I spent a better part of my yesterday buried in deep thoughts about the death of Isaac Ssenyange alias Zebra Mando. My conclusion was that his death should worry everyone in Uganda. I am also skeptical and doubtful as to whether this violence will end with the January 14th election.
Whereas we have been used to news about police brutality; I have a hunch that Mando's death was orchestrated either by one of Uganda's opposition camp or by the mafias in the M7 government. We have always had one enemy to look out for; now even our fellows in the struggle have seemingly begun murders to attract Western power sympathy.
A careful study of the trends of deaths and murders in Uganda reveals that assassinations for vocal anti M7 government people, if any are carefully planned and executed... eg Brig. Noble Mayombo and Gen. Aronda Nyakairima among others.
A further study establishes that the mafia assassinations are by gunfire. eg Hon. Abiriga, Afande Kaweesi, Afande Kirumira among others.
What this means is that Uganda is very insecure and everyone ought to be very careful. This election has flared a lot of tempers and life is not longer of value to a charged population.
Yesterday, I was dismayed by Barbie Kyagulanyi when she posted that about 90[Ninety] members of the Bobiwine crew were arrested in Kalangala. I wondered WHY (for heaven's sake) an intending president would ferry 90 people to a campaign venue where he is only allowed to convene 200 people.
The only reasonable conclusion that can be drawn from this conduct is that Bobiwine sets out for his campaigns with a preconceived mind to disobey the Electoral Commission guidelines or he wants to use the defiance mode.
I still hold the view that Bobiwine doesn't need to expose his support base to prison and deaths before January 14th.
Pres. M7 being a super intelligent fella he is, will want to stir anger among the Bobiwine youths and after the definite outbursts, they will be locked up in prison and by January 14th, there won't be anyone to rise up to the occasion. Do we know the numbers of those that were arrested yesterday after a brief arrest of Bobiwine? Not at all.
At the end of the day, even Dr. Kizza Besigye's Plan B will not have fighters to implement it and the forthcoming election will be business as usual. I still maintain that a divided opposition will not be able to oust the dictator! NEVER....
Dr. KB should reach out to Bobiwine, Gen. Tumukunde , POA, Nobert Mao and Gen. Muntu among others to strategize for the forthcoming elections. Bobiwine ought to have taken enough Political Science lessons now and the only conclusion I expect him to have drawn is that there is no free and fair election to anticipate. All we need is a united opposition.
The business of referring to his opposition predecessors as ba chali ba M7 is breaking the struggle and causing further divisions in the opposition. Bobiwine should tame his childishness, ego and the feeling of self importance.
IN THE MEANTIME, the killers of Mando or the architects of the same may not be far from Kamwokya. This means that on top of looking at the State as our enemy; even our fellow opposition are potential murderers SINCE they feel the need to attract the sympathy of the Western powers.
After the deaths in Luweero triangle, Pres. M7 and his immediate family are enjoying the ultimate prize; after the deaths of members affiliated to the disorganized programs of NUP, the ultimate prize will be enjoyed by the Bobiwine family. So why die an isolated death that won't count anyway! Why does Bobiwine expose his army to indiscriminate arrests and deaths?????
If the opposition does not organise as ONE to overwhelm the dictator, the isolated deaths of the likes of Kawuma Yasin, Frank Senteza among others are negligible and easily forgettable.
BE THAT AS IT MAY, from the look of things, neither being pro NRM nor pro Opposition is safe. Death is no longer a choice, it is the only option from the long list. Opposition politicians should unite and guide us otherwise the dictator is hand picking us one by one.
May the soul of Zebra Mando rest in eternal peace.
