PANIC AS OPPOSITION FAILS TO FIELD CANDIDATES IN 79 CONSTITUENCIES AHEAD OF THE 2021 ELECTION

Experts predict NRM party land slide win after opposition parties fails to front candidates in 79 constituencies ahead of the 2021 election.

A lot of people have been wondering why Museveni is so relaxed in these elections compared to the previous elections, and here is the answer, of the 499 parliamentary seats in the fourth coming election opposition parties will not compete in 47 directly elected constituencies and in 32 out of 146 seats for women.

In the 46 constituencies without opposition candidates nine National Resistance Movement NRM candidates are already waiting for the swearing in Ceremony as they are unopposed.
These include Gender Minister Hon. Frank Tumwebaze (Kibale East) Hon. Matia Kasaija (Buyanja) Hon. Jackson Kafuzi (Kyaka South) Hon. Hillary Lokwang (Bugaya Counties) Hon Emely Kugonza(Buyanja East) Hon. Gyaviira Ssemwanga( Buyamba)Hon. Enock Nyonore(Nakaseke North, Hon. Cuhbert,Abigaba(Kibale).Hon Anita Among (Bukedea) Hon. Lilian Paparu (Arua).

FDC Secretary General Nathan Nandala Mafabi Budadiri West MP admitted that there several are areas where they are very thin on the ground and they therefore dint front candidates.

NUP spokesperson Joel Senyonyi, said that it was due to numerous challenges and poor preparation that they were not able to field candidates in 70 constituencies.

Joel Senyonyi expressed impassive after, Dr Fredrick Golooba Mutebi apolitical scientist, revealed to him that the failure to field candidates in several constituencies would affect his presidential candidate, Kyagulanyi chances of winning the race in the 2021 elections.

Golooba said that many cropping opposition parties fail to front Parliamentary candidates because of poor planning. That Hon Robert Kyagulanyi unlike Dr Kizza Besigye is very thin on ground in terms of structure and this is automatically going to affect him in the upcoming election.

In two constituencies there are no opposition party candidates these are Samia Bugwe County in Busia and Lutseshe County in Bududa District. Seven Independents are racing for Samia Bugwe. In Lutseshe County, three independents are fighting for seat.
Since in 77 constituencies there are only NRM and NRM leaning independents, it means NRM has at least 14% head start in the 2021 parliamentary race.

According to the EC report, the main opposition party, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has the highest number of nominated Parliamentary candidates among the opposition parties.

It has field candidates in 213(60%) Constituencies out of the 353 seats for directly elected MPs. The race for the women MPs saw FDC fielding 68(46%) candidates out of the 146 available slots.
National Unity Platform (NUP) under the Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine leadership, follows closely with 242 candidates, of which 182 (51%) are competing for directly elected MP seat and 60 (41%) for District Women MP seat.

Out of 2.028 nominated candidates for directly elected MP seats, 1,036 are independent and 351 belong to NRM.
The NRM ha the capacity of fielding 145 candidates out 146 seats for the District Woman MP seats. It is only NRM which has fielded candidates in 98% of the constituencies that has capacity to amend the constitution because it will about 75% of the constituencies.

Golobba further said that there are baseless allegations by the opposition leaders that Museveni rigs elections, they speak ignorantly not knowing that Museveni's strength is helped by the NRM structures country wide. If you don't have structures on the ground, you don't control the electoral system, therefore Ugandan opposition should forget about becoming president unless they are organized.
