{UAH} WHEN ISRAEL STOLE AFRICAN LAND (Photo)

Picture: Palestinian liberation leader Yasser Arafat and His Excellency President Idi Amin in Kampala during the 1975 Organization of African Union Summit.

What Africans today are deliberately not being told, is the unity that the continent had back in the 60's and 70's. An example is that when Israel took the Sinaï peninsula from Egypt in 1973, they were stealing African land. As per the OAU charter, the entire African continent led by Idi Amin rallied behind Egypt which is an OAU member state, to demand that Israel return African land. The Palestinians also immediately got the support of almost all the African continents nations as Africa also called on Israel to respect the rights of the Palestinian people under the 1948 UN resolution that first called for a Two-State solution. This move by an entire continent moving as one pack suddenly changed completely the international balance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at the United Nations General Assembly. Africa brought that change, and President Idi Amin led that shift. Israel had stolen African land, and they probably will never forgive Idi Amin for leading that African movement right at a time when they were just about to gobble up Palestine.
