{UAH} WHY DIDN'T SALEH AND RWIGYEMA WAIT FOR MUSEVENI TO BE TAKEN TO COURT!!
WHY DIDN'T SALEH AND RWIGYEMA WAIT FOR MUSEVENI TO BE TAKEN TO COURT!!
By CHANGE OF GUARDS
"If Hon. Kyagulanyi was arrested, his supporters should have waited for him to go to court as he eventually did. The perpetrators have tested the consequences of playing with fire."
Museveni - on the killing of protesters.
When Museveni arrogantly ordered for the arrest of presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine last month, spontaneous protests broke out in several parts of the country. He ordered his security forces to shoot them, consequently official figures put the number of those shot dead at 54 while those who sustained bullet wounds are in hundreds. Since then Museveni has been in a victorious mood claiming that he 'defeated' Bobi Wine and his foreign backers in just two days.
In 1980, Museveni was a presidential candidate for the December 10th general elections. However, during the campaign period he was briefly detained at a military roadblock in the Kampala Suburb of Kireka. He was not manhandled but simply requested to park his car and sit on the veranda of the nearby shops. Museveni and his bodyguard were not disarmed thus casting doubt on the so-called arrest version. The best narrative ought to have been "he was stopped." However, within a few minutes of his being stopped, a squad of 25 men from his private army under the command of his brother Saleh and Rwigyema rushed to the said roadblock and took him away. The Acholi and Langi dominated Uganda national liberation army (UNLA) at the roadblock did not bother to resist. Someone may argue that it's because they were overpowered but they could have sought reinforcement from the nearby Kireka and Mbuya barracks.
It is clear that the so-called arrest was not planned, otherwise why didn't they immediately evacuate him to a place of detention!! Moreover, since Museveni was traversing the country for the election campaign, his arrest would have been best carried out from upcountry location where his private army could not have easily come to his rescue. The development came at a time when efforts to form a post Iddi Amin new Uganda army (UNLA) was being undermined by Museveni for his selfish motives. A number of Banyarwanda he had recruited into his FRONASA faction had been rejected on account of being non Ugandans and refugee. Instead, he would retain them as his private army in preparation for a military confrontation with the government. In the same regard, he had been clandestinely carrying out terrorist activities more especially in Kampala designed to undermine the government. At that time Kampala suffered a lot of mysterious murders more especially of prominent people.
In his own confession, Museveni takes responsibility for the killings;
"".........I was under pressure from the young officers for some military action in the Kampala area, most of which I did not approve. On one occasion, however, I approved the attack on some drinking joint in Kisementi where the indisciplined UNLA would be drinking and misbehaving while in uniform and armed. Magara led the attack. Quite a number of people were killed. We also lost one fighter."
His Sowing the Mustard Seed - page 156.
Here was the Vice Chairman of the then ruling Military Commission, a presidential candidate and leader of the FRONASA faction of the UNLA carrying out massacres of innocent citizens. He continued with the killings during his five years Bush War as suggested by his recent confession;
"In NRA we had a lot of power to do evil, we had big capacity to kill people". At some stage I will write about the details, maybe confidentially and when I have safely gone to heaven somebody can publish. But that information should not be lost. We had some of our people who would say let us kill so and so. Of course, we could do it, but sometimes I always never liked the idea of killing to get quick results. That was always the temptation."
Museveni - during the recent Prayer Breakfast, 8th Oct 2020.
He would send squads to carry out killings in Kampala and in one such mission, his Commander of the urban terror group dubbed Black Bombers, Matayo Kyaligonza shot dead the DP Member of Parliament for Mwenge County, Hon. Bamuturaki at the same Kisementi.
By arresting Presidential Candidates and killing their protesting supporters, Musevee is trying to be smarter that the UPC - Muwanga, Okello, Oyite, Obote and group who handled him with soft gloves. He believes that if they had acted tough on him, he would not have managed to launch his sectarian and bloody Bush War. He clearly outlines this in his book, The Mustard Seed;
"..........why UPC could not pick the signal, like the attack on Kisementi and change their course, is something I could not really understand."
As if that was not enough, even after duping them and carrying out a five years bloody campaign of terror dubbed Bush War, they still trusted him during the Nairobi Peace Talks.
It's for the same reason that he has always called them swine's and idiots.
Therefore, while Museveni was not as popular as Bobi Wine for his arrest to attract mass protests, the intervention by his private army was a kind of protest. Otherwise, as he suggests for Bobi Wine, they too could also have waited for Museveni to be taken to court. Moreover, he was a junior soldier at the rank of Corporal who had simply been stopped by the same army he was serving. The recent protests by Ugandans was the only way they could express their anger. May be next time they should also protest in a similar manner Museveni supporters led by Saleh and Rwigyema had done in 1980! Or is that style of protests a monopoly of only Museveni supporters.
Mujooga!!!!
INFORMATION IS POWER AND THE PROBLEM OF UGANDA IS MUSEVENISM
