With less than a week left to the voting day, this is turning out to be the campaign where Museveni and his thugs have spent the least. Talk show hosts, spin masters and advertising crooks are the most heart broken having expected huge sums of money from the Junta. The likes of Mwenda have tried making rounds to the Junta but no cash is coming out. Serial groom and Museveni supporter a one Isabirye is on the brink of checking into a mental facility as Museveni holds onto his cash. Intelligence circles and commercial politicians are equally wondering what's happening.
In 2001, with Besigye leading him and the country ecstatic about change, Museveni instructed Aziz Kasujja to postpone the election. The night Kasujja postponed it, there was a blackout in Kampala's CBD and vans escorted by heavy security were seen departing the Central Bank and headed towards Plot 1 Nakasero. That election has since been declared the most violent and most expensive election in Uganda's history
Consequent elections saw Museveni run down the Economy to fund his campaign, except this one.
What therefore could be the Junta's game plan this time?
For whatever their plan is, all Ugandans must come together and resolve to battle Museveni out of power. We must all go and vote and assert ourselves should the Will of the people get subverted as has been before. That is why we need liberation fighters and commanders at every point.
Let's go do this!
