{UAH} Africa and the rest of the entire world eagerly ready to follow Uganda's poll !
Professor Kristof Titeca
--
Professor and very outstanding Belgian scholar at the Institute of Development Policy, University of Antwerp, and a visiting professor at London's School of Economics. This is the very first ever specialist to continuously and regularly forecast Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu's possible landslide on January 14, 2021 when he will amass gigantic totals from the youth vote coupled with that of the disgruntled and the awakened classes including the elite of the country.Titeca further foresaw the 2021 poll as a tug of war between some of the old generation and the youth in general. Professor Titeca already saw how Kyagulanyi would sweep to a landslide when his vote would also gather the regular non voters abandoned in political indifference but this time very strongly interested in voting! This is the poll which will go in history as having attracted such global interest almost to the levels that can only be surpassed by the US presidential election, the French presidential election, and the British parliamentary elections, and a few others! And the main actors of this episode are a young thirty-eight-year old politician who has lived and successfully passed through all the most trying difficulties a failed nation can offer to a generation and on the other side of the coin a 76-year-old bushfighter turned into one of the longest reigning dictators Africa has ever seen.Young Bobi Wine Kyagulanyi is promising a Uganda where he will be a simple servant of the people always sympathizing with the poor, the abandoned, the desperate in particular the youth and the unemployed. He's also promising a lot on infrastructure, salaries and wages, and action on insecurity and brutality by the security forces. His message has moved millions to his side and many enthusiasts see in him somebody of a messiah. As for the incumbent, President Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni he is turning on the same programmes most of which no longer present anything spectacularly new and promising. And he has disadvantaged his campaign by easily tolerating acts of violence and brutality against the youth and the opposition in general. All this does indeed continue to present to the country that aspect of dictatorship which the masses want to see replaced with a new style of leadership that will feel closer to the people and to their important needs. The use of money and other financial enticements has also played very negatively for Museveni. People see in that action a cowardly policy that tries to avert the necessary. Kyagulanyi's campaign financially depending on humble donations from the people around and in diaspora has proved more effective as it has tried to reach everyone in every locality of the country displaying that image of a loyal servant promising service and obedience to his bosses, the desperate people of Uganda. And the message has been very well received to the extent of perturbing some in the opposite camp who continue to respond with beatings, tear gas, and sometime with live bullets, the real kicks of a dying horse!! Kyagulanyi and his team have often been denied hotel accommodation and restaurant facilities. The images showing a Kyagulanyi and group sleeping in cars and others on the pavement have enlisted total sympathy and sincere
admiration for candidate Kyagulanyi and on the other hand they have continued to depict
Museveni as somehow heartless and unaccommodating. And the continued ill-treatment of the youth by subjecting them to murder, torture, and imprisonment is very badly seen the world all over. A youth, who generally has nothing on him is a person to be loved and respected because he has two capital assets in his favour, that's age and energy. And on this question Kyagulanyi has marked excellent points as a patriotic leader who will need these assets to be correctly exploited in view of rebuilding society including the economy which needs all this energy to wash away the colossal national debt which is now a big impediment to any kind of progress and prosperity! The youth will also work very energetically to bridge any financial gaps created in our economy by corruption through its many evils including embezzlement, senseless planning and expenditure, etc
Torture as exercised by the current NRM regime only ends up in turning the persecuted into heroes! One can just only see how it has helped Oweekitiibwa Hon Francis Zaake to grace international heroism as a parliamentarian who took money from his pockets to buy and distribute food items to the hungry constituents who were supposed to wait for the official posho supplies from Kampala! Funny enough up to now that presidential posho hasn't even been seen in Nateete, seven kilometres away from Kampala!!
Political persecution as a policy intended to calm and win back the youth is a very childish approach to politics and it has just helped Kyagulanyi to supplant Museveni everywhere including on the international scene where Museveni is seen as already defeated and gone. And the world is now turning full attention to a coming Kyagulanyi presidency which the international community is going to give full support without any reservations.Kyagulanyi is on top because he further proves that he still has much to show. Museveni through a continuous display of brutality via his security forces proves to the world that he has nothing much left to show! If he's returned to power he will just be the very ordinary local Museveni whom people have been accustomed to for 35 years!
Terrain is proudly occupied by Kyagulanyi whose campaign has been boosted by many other things including some smart support shown in Ankore and the entire Western region and the North where, among others, Koboko impressed as an important milestone proudly adding to Kyagulanyi's profile.Kyagulanyi's very massive rally in Amin Dada's Koboko meant a lot to him! All this means true love as opposed to the forced love the military is forcing on people to accept Museveni! Force or no force Kyagulanyi is proudly through because he has been accepted by the people.Nobody will prevent his entry to the State House! Even those generals who vow not to salute him won't carry anything effective. It's not the work of the military to choose leaders for the nation. Their roles are specifically elsewhere. They should refer to the very brilliant pastoral letter issued by the Ugandan Episcopal Conference which is seen as a very courageous admonition both to the Electoral Commission and to the security forces. This pastoral document is very popularly welcomed everywhere as almost an excellent guide-book to a peaceful election period that all forces in question must handle with special care! Many nations have also come out with a particular stand on Uganda's poll. Recently many foreign representations in Kampala joined hands with other institutions to appeal for a peaceful election in the country. All those powers are aware of the need for change through the ballot and not the bullet! Equally condemned is any possibility by a forein group to interfere with the country's electoral system especially by way of meddling with the computer system and all logistics regarding its filing pattern. This will be put to deep scrutiny under very strict observation. No rigging will be tolerated. Any government forming out of a rigged election will not be accepted and will be resisted by all means and force including the unexpected! There will be no jokes this time! We've had enough of this idiocy and we won't accept it any more! So dear fellow citizens, have a blessed week for a good Thursday 14th January 2021which must bring to us all good tidings for the good of our beloved country!
