{UAH} Africa is now a polio free continent!
The one positive event of 2020 was Africa being declared a Polio free continent. The aim to elimate this was started in 1985 by a Rotarian and adopted by WHO and various organisations. In a developing country every child has to be inoculated every month from the age of 6 months to 5 years, hence the high costs.
I have an uncle, now a doctor by profession ,who suffered disability in one leg as a child, apparently, due to polio vaccinations. I'm glad science has come far to correct its blunders, and something good has come out of it. Yes, vaccinations work and have helped in controlling the spread of certain diseases.
