{UAH} HOUSE ARRESTS AFTER ELECTIONS ARE NORMAL NOW

By Lineaker kiggundu

What difference should we expect?

In 2016, FDC's Kizza Besigye  was put under house arrest immediately after the polls with police saying that he was preparing a protest in Kampala after the announcement of the results which are not in his favour. Besigye spent 3 months under house arrest which later court declared that it was illegal.

The same is happening now with Kyagulanyi. It was very clear that Kyagulanyi would be put under house arrest because there is no way results would be in his favour. He has so far spent 9 painful days under an illegal detention.

I see Politicians carrying food stuffs to Magere just as they did in 2016 as they took them to Kasangati. Segirinya , Sewanyana happened to among them just as today.

Besigye got a way out and in may of 2016, he  swore himself in as president of Uganda on the D-Day of Gen Museveni's swearing in.

Besigye, who was supposed to be under house arrest -- and a throng of his supporters gathered in downtown Kampala on Wednesday afternoon to hold a brief inauguration ceremony. There was a stage, podium, Bible, flags and pageantry. The Lord Mayor attended the ceremony.

It didn't exactly work, but Besigye's escape didn't last long.  Anti-riot police broke up the crowd of supporters using tear gas, and Besigye was arrested, taken to Moroto prison and charged for treason.
However, the treason charges were later dropped.

Besigye and his supporters  insisted that 2016  election results were invalid. They say the voting was rigged by Museveni and his ruling party.

This is what is happening exactly in 2021.Is Bobi wine reading from the same script as his predecessor? If not, what next?  Lets keep our eyes open
