{UAH} DO BAZUNGUS CARE ABOUT UGANDA?

By Karl-Marx W'Mugeni

In the course of the 2016 elections, I received a call from an American Embassy official. He introduced himself by name and didn't mention his position. I insisted he tells me his position, he eventually relented and said he was the Political Officer. I had read about Political Officers of the U.S embassies in the book "Ghost Wars", so I clearly got to understand this fellow. He then went ahead to ask if indeed the FDC is organizing a Youth Brigade for purposes of Electoral violence. In my response, I told him there was no way I am going to say yes or no to his answer because I understand that it is possible he was asking on behalf of Mr. Museveni. The line went cold for a moment and I thought he had hung up. Then I heard his voice again, he said there is no way he can work for Museveni. I told him the boots, uniform and ammunition of the Museveni militias are supplied by the United States. He then asked me if I have evidence, I told him i can share pictures of United States military boots worn by the Museveni militias. To this he suggested i send him pictures via WhatsApp on the number he was using to call.

After he hung up, I sent him pictures of people wearing U.S military boots and beating supporters of FDC.

He called me back again to say they supplied the boots because the Ugandan military was undertaking military operations in Somalia under the supervision of the United States. Then I asked him if indeed that doesn't mean the Museveni Junta is their ally and emphasized my point that he would quickly share with the junta any information I gave him. He quickly hung up.
