Chief Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo, the head the Supreme Court has thrown out the defence affidavits in support of the National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential petition against president Yoweri Museveni's victory in the 2021 presidential elections.

Supreme Court's deputy registrar Harriet Ssali Lukwago has written to the petitioner's lawyers led by Busiro East legislator Medard Lubega Sseggona notifying them that over fifty of their affidavits have been rejected and will not be put on Court record because they were filed out of time.

Among the affidavits which were thrown out include that of Mukono Municipality legislator Betty Nambooze Bakireke, NUP's Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya, Bobi Wine's assistant Ali Buken (Nubian Li), Bobi Wine's bodyguard Edward Ssebuufu (Eddy Mutwe), Bobi Wine's lawyer Benjamin Katana and others.

Today morning, Bobi Wine's lawyers Samuel Muyizi, Eron Kizza and others staged a super custom vehicle at the Supreme Court and spent the whole day bidding all the finished affidavits. They were later taken to the clerk's desk but they were not received.

In the same development, Court accepted fifty other affidavits from Kyagulanyi's team, they included one sworn by Mityana Municipality legislator Francis Zaake Butebi who accused President Museveni, police and Electoral Commission boss Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama.

Former independent presidential candidate Joseph Kabuleta also swore an affidavit supporting Kyagulanyi that his victory was stolen by Museveni.

Nine Justices of the Supreme Court set 18th March as the final date to deliver their ruling.
