WHAT IF MOST UGANDANS DON'T REALLY NEED A CHANGE?? WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

I was in Kampala recently during the Strikes by NUP members and other Opposition sympathisers after one of our Presidential Candidates Robert Kyakulanyi was arrested. As a Journalist and Researcher, I went not only to cover the event but to also proceed on my Research on the Nature of Ugandans. 

I was shocked to observe the following.

At every point that the strikes would begin within Kampala, the ACTUAL number of people #actively participating in the strike was less than anticipated. There were No more than 5 individuals, usually youth who looked like they had a lot of FREE time on their hands. 

I never saw anyone who looked like a Lawyer, Medical Doctor, Nun, Priest, Sheik, Pilot, Super League Football Player, Senior 4 Candidate, Coffee Farmers, Disabled People, Expectant mothers, Teachers Union, KACITA, UTODA etc... Am serious. 

Most were either simply standing by watching the entertaining youth dance and sing and would scamper and run away once the Police Sirens would ring. Like they were just bored and simply enjoying the fracas but there was a GENERAL vivid reluctance to directly be part of any Demonstrations .

The bystanders were neither condemning nor condoning the Tyre Burning Scenes for example. All video clips show you today are a few people burning stuff and a MULTITUDE just standing there watching redundantly...

Most appeared to be Excited and LAUGHING, rather than shouting 'freedom chants" or NUP slogans that the 5 boys were chanting. This is not what I observed with Egypt or Tunisia for instance. 

Even as the strike became more intense , MAJORITY of the inhabitants continued with their business. Taxis were ferrying thousands of People too and from Kampala Central, over 99% of Shops, garages, saloons etc remained OPEN with people coming out breifly to do "Lugambo" and LAUGH at the scenario like it was not serious. Like they had all witnessed such before and KNEW how it would end.....Some said, 3 days, others joked that this time in 24 hours Museveni would be toppled..  but , none of the MOB was directly  Participating in the "Strike to release Kyagulanyi".. Unfortunately the youth would run away faster than the bystanders and stray bullets would get them instead. Majority of the arrested may not be the real strikers therefore, by Innocent bystanders, this the Judges should know. It's very hard to burn a tyre in the middle of Kampala and be caught ON SITE. Cameras may help though. 

You see how many People needed to be removed from their Shops in Kampala in Musululu mojja even on the third day of strike..!!  They simply just wanted to CONTINUE with their daily chores, life PLANS and WORK come what may. They never appeared concerned about any CHANGE. They say Most Ugandans  Love Money more then their Lives and this could be true.

When the matters became heated and the Army was sent in...still, Ugandans were Heading to work, some with hands in the air but they would bypass the mean looking Soldiers and even Greet them.., but none was willing to LET GO OF BUSINESS. I found a man carrying a sack of Rice sharing a Cigarette with some  soldiers and wondered where he was going when the whole of Kampala was sounding like Twaa twaaa pwahh kaboom...they had asked him where he was going,,, ,, he put down his sack and walked towards the Soldiers and told them that he needed to deliver the goods or else he would be fired.. When one Afande  Lit a cigarette and the laborer man asked,,, Sebo afande ontwala kko mwana"....hehe. After being given his share of smoking, they let him go. 

Apparently, the security guys were also aware that the Real trouble makers were FEW though incorrigible.....

 

And this is How ALL Political  Demonstrations against Museveni have been in the Past ....Maybe that's why they never turn out to be Benghazi, Tahrir Square, South Sudan etc.. The type of Tsunami we all expected from Colonel Besigye could be LOST in this phenomena.

The Only serious Demonstration that  ever really disturbed Museveni in my analysis was the MABIRA FOREST one led by Beatrice Anywar. That is the ONLY time I saw Ugandans UNITED and demonstrating against everything as ONE.. Student groups, the disabled, all Universities ...at the same time!!?. It was Short but Bloody.. 

I have NEVER seen Museveni CONCEDE so fast.  Infact that is why he Fears "Mama Mabira" being far away from him till this very day. He keeps her CLOSE because she is his strongest Enemy ever.....BUT he does not keep Besigye, Otunnu, Mao, Kyagulanyi, Eddie Mutwe close because he is aware that they may NOT be that Strong like Mama Mabira. 

Betty Kamya also has a very DANGEROUS tongue and her WORDS were capable of causing uprisings within MENGO. She was too strong that she even formed a Political Party with the Word FEDERO,,, a philosophy that to Museveni was a real "Danger to Uganda as a republic".... 

I saw Forestry and Conservation  NGOs, even Bazungu were on the streets during Mabira riots, .. 

 But the Kayunga riots,,,,hmm!!  I heard some LUO guy ask, "But who is this Kabaka!? Is he a minister,, me I want to go work.. the Theme was too tribal and divisive  that it would not arouse a Uganda with so many tribes to support it.... 

The more the strike proceeded, the angrier the Non Baganda became as they looked at this cause as what did not concern all of them. 

As for "walk to work "and Besigye's several Strikes (NOW HISTORY and forgotten), it got even worse....Local Vigilante Groups started forming that would CANE demonstrators who came near their shops during strikes. Even Boda Boda guys formed a Deadly Group called BODA BODA 2010 commanded by Kitata whose Primary Goal was to simply Destroy any form of "Political Demonstration that disturbed business".

The notion of "crime  preventers" also arose simply as a Vigilante group from the Population itself to "suppress" demonstrations such. The Police Commanders just came in to try to tap into their philosophy, albeit with a not so good ending.  

NOW!!

What if Most Ugandans are actually TOO BUSY occupied with real economic and social  #Progress under today's "System of things" that much as they seem to listen and enjoy verbally (and on Facebook) discussing  to the Political Likes of Kiiza Besigye and Robert Kyagulanyi's continuous Rhetoric that "Most Ugandans are NOT progressing anywhere in their Lives",,, ??

What if they are always just LAUGHING at these in their hearts but Secretly they appreciate and see the real HOPE coming to reality in their Lives in this Current Regime of Museveni?

What if they actually believe that their Lives may not be as Bad as the Opposition is protesting BUT they still sympathize with them and Live them as fellow Citizens anyway? 

What if much as It is indeed true that Some Ugandans are unemployed, suffering, can't access medical services and education,,are disgruntled etc, there are actually Millions of others who are very busy working and Earning money, building bungalows, driving Benzes, paying trillions to Governemnt  in income tax, PAYE etc?? 

What if Uganda is not divided Politically BUT economically that the superior economically can never allow the Inferior Minority to surpass them??

I know you are unemployed, but What if your elder brother In the UPDF Army who Pays fees for you daughters and looks after your Mother in the Village with his salary has told you to vote and Support  Only his side, would you refuse?? 

What if the tens of thousands of Ugandan Public Servants, teachers, doctors, Soldiers, Nurses etc actually FEAR Losing their JOBS due to ANY incumbarence or instability (even though just imagined) in Uganda and their Lives more than they Fear or Hate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni? 

What If the Majority of Ugandans who usually dont turn out to Vote in every election are actually NOT sure that they need CHANGE of anything? Why would a really sane tired person refuse to chase OUT his or adversary if they ever got the slightest  Chance?? For all these decades?

Why would MOST Ugandans decline to participate in "Removing Museveni" from Power IF he was truly indeed retrogressive, 'Murderous', blood thirsty, non Economical, torturous, Lazy, weak, too old, dangerous as the Opposition members seem to Want Ugandans to believe?????

 

What if Most Ugandans can't  wait for COVID saga to end to Go back to the VERY SAME Schools, Universities, Business partners, Nurses, Farmers, work, NIGHT CLUBS, , CHURCH, Country, Religion, etc that they Had in 2019???

What if VERY few Ugandans are expecting or even Hoping for any change in that for ANYTHING else...?

Why would they just stand there and do NOTHING? 

What if Ugandans actually Do not want or Need Any DISTURBANCE in their Lives and are very quietly practically Contented with the State of Progress in their Lives, Relationships, Families, Society and Country at Large??

Can a Leader who is not appreciated and Loved by a Majority of the People stay in Power for 35 years??! Is this Practically Possible?  Was Gadaffi Really hated ?? Was Sadam? Was Omar el Bashir hated or was it simply about the PRICE OF BREAD not Politics? 

Was Mobutu hated or it was a fault of Uganda and Rwanda to remove him? To be Honest,,,,

 DID any of you hate Robert Mugabe!!? So what make you think that the MAJORITY of Zimbabweans did?? 

Do the Rwandese HATE Paul Kagame or Do they Love him?

Can a Million GUNS defeat a MAJORITY (multitude) of Citizens who really Hate their Leader??? Let us be Honest?? Aren't those who Protect Museveni our own husband's, boyfriends, wives, girlfriends, parents , sisters etc etc?? 

Which Ugandan has NOT relative working with and earning Money from the Government??

Which Ugandan here has NO relative who has Benefitted and become VERY rich and successful under Museveni's "regime"?. Please lift up your hands...

Who has  been cooking for Museveni food all these years? Who treats him when he falls sick? How come Even an American Presidents have been assassinated by common people? How come Milton Obote was shot in the mouth? Wasn't it because he was HATED? What if Nobody really hates Museveni like we are made to believe by a few? Do you want to lie to us that Museveni is an Angel not a Person? How come Amin was removed by Ugandans just 7 years after ?? Wasn't he more ruthless and stronger than Museveni????? 

Isnt The Love for Museveni by Ugandans TRUE LOVE????

What if there is a young progressive Lady awaiting for her Kwanjula in February, would she need a Change in anything between now and then. ?

What if there is a Banana Farmer in deep in Kayunga or Kasese who has cleared his field and awaiting ONLY the Rains to Plant? Would such a farmer need a change of anything else in Uganda but the  weather? 

What if there is a young Trader who has ordered for a Container of Mobile Phones from China it they are on the Ship,,,,, do you think that Gentleman is Anticipating or Excited about any change like an Average NUP or Opposition supporter? 

There is a Young man who hopes to finish his Bachelor's  Degree in March. Why would such a person risk to be part of a Change of anything from Now till then?

What if Most Ugandans are only desiring an upgrade and improvement in already on going  services and infrastructure developments under Museveni's leadership  (which are already sufficient to them) and reduction and Seriousness in Corruption from the SAME leaders rather than a total 180 degrees OVERHAUL of the Ugandan way of Life as we know it as being Preached by Opposition Politicians?

What if the MAJORITY of Ugandans are actually Not TIRED and SICK of Museveni?

What if today, an enemy neighboring country Arrested  (kidnapped) their President, Yoweri Tibihaburwa Kaguta Museveni (God forbid)),,,,, how Many Shops would remain Open in Uganda on day 1,??????? 

How many Ugandans would go to WAR!???? 5 out of 100????!....or 95 out of 100??? 

Would you Stay in you stay home?
