I have been a staunch supporter of the National Unity Platform (NUP) Presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine but I think it is now the right time to throw in the towel and quit his party.
This has come after realizing his double standards which manifested especially during the ongoing filing of his election petition to the Supreme Court. In his statement while addressing journalists at NUP offices in Kamwokya recently, he asked three justices of the Supreme Court to disqualify themselves from hearing his election petition against President Museveni, citing conflict of interest. These include the Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo, Justice Mike Chibita and Justice Ezekiel Kurabiraho Muhanguzi.

"We have questions about the Chief Justice Owiny-Dollo, having been a former Museveni minister, having been a former Museveni defence lawyer... We believe that within the law, that is wrong," said Mr. Kyagulanyi.
"Therefore, we want the Chief Justice not to be part of this hearing. Not just the Chief Justice, there are other justices in the Supreme Court like (Justice) Mike Chibita, who we all know was the private secretary for legal affairs in Museveni's office for seven years. We also know that (Justice) Ezekiel Muhanguzi is a relative of Gen Eli Tumwine, a person that the national and international community has castigated for abusing human rights," Mr Kyagulanyi added.

However, even though Bobi Wine claims that he cannot trust these judges due to their ties with the President, we all know that his second in Command, the NUP Secretary General, Mr. David Lewis Rubongoya was a few years ago very close to President Museveni. Shockingly, he even lauded the President for his good leadership with a peace award.

We should all remember that Mr. Rubongoya contested on the NRM ticket in 2017, during the elections of the MPs representing Uganda in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).
Rubongoya, who was at the time one of the coordinators of the University students in the East African Region was much connected with State House, rallying students to support President Museveni. He however lost the ticket to the experienced and skilled politician ending up falling out of the regime.

So, Bobi Wine claiming that he cannot trust the judges, then why should he trust Rubongoya? Doesn't this mean that Bobi Wine is a Puppet? It seems there is something hidden we all don't know.
Putting the Justices and Rubongoya issue aside, why did Bobi Wine and his lawyers submit the affidavits after the deadline and later claim that the court rejected their evidence? These people are seriously playing on our minds.

Also, what does Bobi mean when he says that he will take the case to the public court? Ugandans already rejected our violent means we have been pushing all along even before elections. They showed us that they can't participate in any violent acts orchestrated by hooligans when the top NUP leaders and their families are safe in their houses just watching everything on their TV sets.

I and my colleagues have been supporting the Ghetto King but now we can't support this double-sided man anymore
