{UAH} Is Amin A Fraudster Or It’s Poli-Ticks Behind The Ugx 30 Billion Saga

The son to Uganda's former President, Idi Amin Dada (RIP), Taban Amin is in hot soup following the serious investigations launched against the fraud of 30 Billion shillings.

On Friday, the Internal Security Organization Deputy Director -General, Taban Amin was grilled at the Criminal Investigations Directorate in Kibuli over allegations that he got involved in a shs30 billion fraud scandal.

Charles Twine the CID spokesperson confirmed to media that  Taban is suspected to have put himself in the 2019 fraud where American Nationals lost $8million that is 30billion in Ugandan money.

"In 2019, two American Nationals transacted business involving gold in Cameroon, they had bought gold worth $5 million and left it with dealers to ship it to Canada. But when the consignment reached Canada, the two Americans realised that they had been duped because inside were aluminium bars instead of gold" Said Twine.

Twine goes ahead to say that the Americans allege that they received a call from Uganda and that was a week after the person who called them identified himself as Taban Amin the head of intelligence in Uganda who said their gold was intercepted from Uganda and people who were taking it had no genuine records.

It is alleged that when the Americans came back to sort the issue, they paid $3.8M before they were given the gold but on their way back, they were ambushed and all their vehicles were ransacked for all the gold bars.

Taban, a son to former president Idi Amin (RIP), was in October last year appointed ISO deputy director by President Museveni after sacking the former ISO boss, Col Kaka Bagyenda, and replacing him with Lt Col Charles Oluka on October 8.

However, Amin's appointment left many in security circles disappointed and unhappy with the President's decision.
