MUSEVENI KILLED MY FATHER BUT HE NEEDN'T WORRY; WE FORGAVE HIM!
This is how...
"M7s soldiers" and "M7s government" are an euphemism for Museveni himself as the President of Uganda but more especially as Commander-In-Chief (CIC) of the National Resistance Army, the predecessor of today's UPDF. Museveni is the overall Commander of all operations, actions, and inactions of Uganda army and armed forces from the time he took oath as President and CIC in 1986 hitherto. He is merited, accountable and culpable for every single action and inaction; implied or not, that all officers, soldiers and men under his command undertake because it is done under his auspices. As President and CIC, Museveni has all power; institutional, coercive and moral to author and delegate authorship of and operation yet bear ultimate responsibility over and above every officer and man under his aegis.
The soul of the CIC is the heartbeat of his armed forces. The professionalism (or lack thereof) of an army is the mirror of it's CIC. The spots of an army and armed force; valour in battle, humanitarian in peace time, savage to citizens, contra-purposed to social order and rule of law, retrograde, lecherous and losing at the battlefield, define the skin coat of it's CIC. The CIC is the all-or-nothing of an army and armed forces. That's what Museveni is to the National Resistance Army, the UPDF, SFC, police, prisons, paramilitary forces, etc.
Now enter my father's killing...
My father was a civilian who never touched a gun in his life. He was apolitical (if he awoke from his fleshly death, he'd faint that his son is remotely political!). Papa was a British trained Othopedic officer unlike any i have known across our Ugandan Medical landscape. He was in Medical School at Mulago Hospital while New Malago was being built and was among the first local Medical professionals to work in that New Hospital. Papa was every hospital patient's darling and I witnessed that myself as a child growing up under him. He treated anyone and everyone who would come home in Kumi WITHOUT DEMANDING A CENT. At that time, the words corruption, theft and fraud were anathema in the realm of social, private or government service. That's why all he left when his life was wasted by fraudulent NRM crooks was a mud-and-wattle house we all were born and happily lived in all only from his salary. Daddy lived the most ordinary life and had countless loving friends. I do not remember anyone coming up to our family with his debt or in open enmity towards our Dad. This explains why he was killed together with his good friend; a businessman (Emuli from Amuria) who supplied livestock bought across Teso cattle markets to Uganda Meat Packers, Kampala.
Both were shot by a duo of NRA soldiers deliberately ordered and sent by their Commander from Soroti Military Barracks in the evening of Sunday February 15th, 1987. His friend died on the spot even as my father who attempted to bandage and save his friend's life was himself shot and died alone without any treatment whatsoever on a Soroti Hospital bed, a workplace he treated and saved countless Ugandan lives from. Why? Because after that shooting that killed our parents, the Soroti NRA Commander, using deceptive pretexts of rebel attack to cover our parent's killing, released Museveni's soldiers throughout Soroti Town that unleashed such savagery and mayhem that all Hospital workers ran away at Soroti hospital. This, in essence, was contributory to the triggering of the Museveni massacres, brutality, killings, cattle rustling, looting and wanton suffering that overtook Teso!
And nothing couldn't have happened without Museveni's indelible hand of blood!!!
Have you ever wondered why Iraqi tyrant Ssadam Hussein was smoked from a foxhole and shamefully hanged? And why his sons were slain to boot? Why Zaire's Mobuttu was dismally and hurriedly buried in Morocco and not Lisala his ancestral home? Hitler, Gaddafi, Ceausescu, and lots more dictators perhaps never personally killed anyone. Closer home, presidents Obote and Idi Amin maybe never pulled triggers either but did their gait and charm spare them Museveni's bellicose albeit belaboured nationalism and pan-Africanism? The world does not know dogs-of-war who commit horrendous atrocities and perish in battle any more than their tyrannical Commanders whose infamy is menacingly yoked to their stiff, unfeeling necks. The blood of millions drips down their hands on account of their overall Command of forces of coercion, brutality and murder. These CICs are as guilty as only sin can be!
That's how Museveni killed my father and made my mother a widow and twelve of us orphans!
But in all this pain and suffering these 34 years, we have FORGIVEN Museveni and his soldiers for cold blooded killing of our father and continue to ask God's strength to overcome further temptation by this increasingly vile police State !!!
CLARIFICATION
My mother, my fellow siblings, and I ARE NOT seeking compensation for our father's killing from anybody any more than we await truth, penance, accountability and justice given publicly in the overall context of Teso massacres and mayhem occasioned by Museveni. Only this will reconcile us and Museveni. And like ALL HUMAN BLOOD shed in Teso, my father's innocently, premeditatively and violently snuffed out life was far more precious than any thirty pieces of silver by his killers can ever recompense! This is my perception about how Teso should approach her post-1986 misery and past; STOP begging pittance and cattle compensation from Museveni however impoverished and for whatever reason under the sun. Iteso are a proud and diligent people who'll remake the glory of their land in the nearest future. It's from and unto God that life's essence and authorship rests.
Let's remember...

Allow therefore, no man to lord it over you in your weakness and vulnerability. Be strong in the Lord your refuge.
