{UAH} Soroti regional referral hospital to be relocated to Soroti University

Authorities in Soroti City are planning to relocate Soroti regional referral hospital to Soroti University.

Soroti regional referral hospital was established in the mid 1920s as a treatment centre for syphilis. It was elevated to a district hospital in 1978 and it became a referral hospital in 1996.

Moses Otimong, the city clerk says the health ministry has already written a letter to the city asking the authorities to start the process of relocating the hospital to a spacious place.

He says the city authorities have so far toured 19.4 titled acres of land in Arapai Town Council and over 20 acres of land in Soroti University where they propose the regional referral hospital to be relocated to.
