I hesitate to put much power to laws on cultural issues. Where culture is still constitutionally recognized, it not right to disregard its practices. 

If in case, the Adhola culture empowers the clan to officiate on the matters of burial, marriage and divorce for instance, the clan decisions take precedence over the legal system, this is not treason or the like which the courts of law should preside.

If I were the one presiding, I would guide the warring parties to go for arbitration.
