{UAH} who controls the opposition?
By Lineaker Kigunddu
You may find that among all NUP MPs that went through, its only Ssegirinya Mohammed MP Zaake Francis Butebi who are actually focused on the struggle, the rest are masqueraders.
This is how politics is played in a Mafia state. Forexample if Mubarak Munyagwa the Kawempe South MP used to block and expose dirty deals of strong businessmen and Ministers in govt during his time as COSASE chairman, they offer financial help to his strong competitor like Kazibwe Bashir Mbaziira to uproot him out of Kawempe South. The mafias pay you to do the job for them.
Another example, If Amelia Anne Kyambadde by the fact that she is the Trade Minister with the UIA, UNBS, Fisheries, etc are all falling under her docket and she used to block state mafias from getting investiment deals and winning big contracts from govt, they instead invest in her opponent like Dr Hilder to uproot her out of Mawokota. The mafia solves their issues and also leaves the MP happy.
The level at which opposition Politicians are compromised is so high especially after mafias realised that their biggest weakness is lack of Finances. They are used by mafias to solve their immediate problems by getting rid of those who stand in their way.
Therefore if one is compromised, he is already a bad egg and this skids him or her off the main aim of the 'struggle' to take power from NRM.
The state mafia groups are aware that the opposition has no capacity to overthrow Museveni through elections so they find it so safe to use opposition Politicians to sweep away NRM Politicians who block their deals. This tells you why Basajja Balaba can sponsor to over 70 opposition MP Candidates but President Museveni does not condemn him over the action. Remember he who finances you controls you.
Beti O. Kamya-Turwomwe could not win in Lubaga after she cancelled so many land titles in Kampala belonging to powerful businessmen even though they had acquired the land illegally.
So who controls the opposition? Before you go to the Streets to riot, think twice.
