{UAH} Muhoozi has more chances of taking power from his father
By Lineaker Kigunddu
Many people seemed unhappy when I wished Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba
a happy birthday and on top of that adding that he has 98% chances of becoming the next president. Many shallowly thought that am either NRM or a person in support of the Muhoozi project which is wrong.
Ugandans hate bitter facts and prefer sweet lies. This is because they dont want to look at things in a normal way without feelings. The problem with the opposition is that whoever says something not in their favor is either a mole or a staunch NRM person.
For all the years Uganda has had elections, at this time you would be able to see that the avenues you want to use to oust Museveni out of power cannot work especially the elections. This is where I find you not being honest to yourselves to ever think that you can overwhelm the state and take power through an election you have no idea about how it is organized, counted and results announced. I find you very unserious or infact crazy.
What has happened in CHAD recently would open your eyes to show you where power actually belongs. It would even be worse for you to think that if God for bid Museveni dies in office, Vice President Ssekandi or Speaker Rt Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga can take over from him because the constitution says so.
Kyagulanyi is not the first person to compete with Museveni neither is he the first person to win the election. I personally believe Bobi Wine won the 2021 elections just as Dr Kizza Besigye did in 2006 but there is a difference between winning an election, being announced the winner and matching to state House. Those are three byfar different things. Lets not be blind to this extent. The only time in recent times when Museveni almost lost power was during the Kabaka riots of 2009. That time, he really felt the heat and since then he has managed to squeeze you.
Muhoozi has more chances of taking power from his father because of his ever growing influence in the army. As of now, many bush war Generals who may not have respected the son of Kaguta are either retired, dead or in exile. This has given him higher chances as the new recruits and many men of his age believe in him. Power in Uganda doesn't not belong to the ballot paper but rather the military. The day you will understand and accept this in your heads you will have less stress. Kyagulanyi knows this. He knows he couldn't be announced the winner. This is why I think he wasn't heartbroken after the results were announced.
I will always recommend that if we ever want power from Museveni, we either negotiate with him or else wait for him to die in office. Any one from the Nrm who will succeed him will be weaker and will listen because by then he will want to have new allies. It is better we spend the next five years negotiating and dialoguing than preparing for the elections whose results wont be different from those in the past.
