Woman falls to feet of Prime Minister at Qld press conference

A woman has fallen to her knees at the feet of the Prime Minister at a press conference in Queensland today.

The dramatic scenes unfolded just minutes after Scott Morrison finished his press conference in Rockhampton about protecting Australian Agriculture.

According to journalists at the scene, the woman collapsed in front of the Prime Minister and asked for him to help her family in the Republic of Congo.

"Woman falls to her knees and prays to the Prime Minister begging he help her family in Africa," 7NEWS political reporter Jennifer Bechwati tweeted.

While another reported the woman cried "Help me, help me… My people are being killed".

In photos posted to social media, the Prime Minister can be seen crouching down to console the upset woman.

It's understood the Prime Minister and a number of other people stayed behind after the media conference to chat with the woman.
