{UAH} MUSEVENI DISPARAGES PORK-EATING BAIRU

The Banyankole is an ethnic group in Western Uganda.  They are subdivided into the cattle keepers (Bahima) and the cultivators (Bairu) which is the equivalence of Rwanda and Burundi's Tutsi and Hutu respectively.  Like is the case with the Tutsi and Hutu in Burundi and Rwanda, the Bahima regard themselves as being superior to the Bairu. Their social and economic differences are characterized by physical appearance, economic livelihoods, type of nutrition etc.

Whereas the Bahima can employ the Bairu, the Bahima don't work for the Bairu.  It's almost a taboo for a Muhina man to marry a Mwiru woman but in rare circumstances a Muhima woman can only be married to a rich Mwiru man.

While the Bahima are exclusively Protestant the Bairu tend to be Catholics and Muslims.  There are some foods like chicken (which the Bahima refer to as birds), eggs, grasshoppers, pork, potatoes and others that are a taboo to Bahima but the Bairu do enjoy them.  Interestingly, in private, the Bahima enjoy some of such foods.  It is against this background that following the above disparaging statement, the Bairu notably from their stronghold in Bushenyi are up in arms.

As reported by the Daily Monitor, they are accusing Museveni of disparaging not only their source of nutrition but a means of economic survival.

Owing to their (Bairu)  overwhelming support for UPC and Obote, during Museveni' sectarian Bush War he registered a few Bairu supporters.

However, after capturing power, he embarked on the purge of the same Bairu from his NRA/NRM.  That is what befell the likes of Eriya Kategaya, Tadeo Kanyankole, Julius Chihandae, Kizza Besigye, Samson Mande, John Kazoora, Mushega, Fred Bamwesigye, Julius Aine, Muntu, Ivan Koreta, Miria Matembe, Edison Muzoora and others.

These are the 'fake Banyankole friends' who eat pork that Museveni premeditatevely refers to as having KUHEMUKa (let him down) by abandoning him and leaving only Otafiire and a few opportunists hanging around him for leftovers.
