{UAH} Why has there been a violent crime surge in cities led by Democratic mayors in 2021? Is it simply a coincidence, or the result of a failed ideology?

There is no really big violent crime surge, just a lot of GOP paranoia. Crime levels are just returning to the high levels achieved under the Trump Administration. GOPers play the blame game these days because they are desperate to avoid taking the blame themselves. Whatever, whenever, the GOP is always looking to collapse government to prove their anti-government ideology is the "truth." That "truth" fades as soon as the GOPers are out of office.

General responsibility avoidance explains why their story about the 1/6 attack on Congress keeps changing. First it was their racial nemesis, BLM, then it was ANTIFA, then it was both, cosplaying Trump supporters. Then the attack was converted into a normal tourist visit, not something GOPers would have EVER been afraid of despite all the evidence of their fear (Johnson, Jordan, Gomer, Clyde, etc). Finally, the GOP blamed the FBI, their old "deep state" nemesis. Meanwhile, GOP white militia operatives threatened, and continue to threaten, every state capitol complex in the US with violence and terrorism.

The GOP has no use for the US Constitution besides securing their gun rights, rights Gaetz and Cawthron have both explained only exist to help GOPers violently overthrow any government they view as "tryannical" in their opinions. Meanwhile, they mouth words about the sacred life in my womb, while giving away AR-15s to shoot those babies as soon as the umbilical cord is cut. That's a self-granted license to shoot their way to election success.

If one wants to look to a failed ideology that destroys people's lives, one need look no further than the GOP's anti-science, anti-masking, anti-health hygiene, anti-climate change ideology. That ideology is based in a real religion, Christianity, in one of its most horrific forms, evangelical Dominionism. These are "End Times" religious fanatics who really plan to institute Bible law in the US as a precursor to the second coming of Jesus. They have no respect for human life not already in their herd-congregation. The notion of "pro-life" Republicans is absurd. All they want to do is control female sexuality, NOT female reproduction.

The failed ideology of the GOP caused the direct deaths of over 400,000 Americans over the course of just a year under their leadership. The GOP has no value for most of these Americans because they would not vote Republican. In fact, most Republicans don't recognize any voter or citizenship rights outside of their party. That's why they rationalize the attack on Congress, that was an expression of their disdain for all the non-Republicans that voted for Biden.

The GOP is no more than a cult mentality today. MAGA is an unhinged authoritarian movement just inches away from rationalizing ethnic cleansing as it has been done for centuries. That's a failed ideology. Garden variety crime is nothing compared to the GOP and Trump's lackeys.
