{UAH} *YOU ARE JUST A SEED, THERE IS UN-USED POTENTIAL INSIDE YOU!*
By Muhimbise George
Recently, I met some fellow young people in my home District Kamwenge. As we interacted, a woman vending maize came by our side and we bought some.
As we conversed, I picked a maize seed and asked each of them to describe what he saw, all of them saw a maize seed.
I asked them what if I planted this seed, how many seeds would I harvest, they said about two hundred. Then I asked what if I planted the two hundred, they said maybe about forty thousand would be harvested, then I asked them what if I planted the forty thousand seeds, they said maybe over four million seeds!
So I told them, inside one maize seed that they saw, lied a garden, or a plantation. Inside this seed lied tonnes and tonnes of posho that can feed millions of people!
Whereas they could see a seed, they couldn't see the huge potential in it, and because they couldn't see this potential doesn't mean that it didn't exist!
Yourself you are a seed, and in you there is potential. Potential means hidden power or un-utilised power. Whereas other people see a tax driver in you, a small accountant in you, a store keeper in you, a mere lawyer in you, an employee in you, they don't see the much hidden potential that lies inside you. Because they don't see it, or because yourself don't see it doesn't not mean that you don't have it!
Because the seed hasn't found a fertile soil to germinate doesn't mean it's potential is dead. Because you haven't found the right environment doesn't mean the potential in you is dead.
You have the power, the capabilities, the capacity, the ingredients all deep in you to become much bigger than you can imagine, just like one seed can turn into a plantation.
You could be a mere teacher, a mere nurse, a mere secretary, a mere peasant, a mere office attendant, a mere student, etc, but inside you there is potential to break the chains that make you feel worthless.
Inside you there is power to expand your horizons, your influence and your territory. What you think is limits to your success is just in your mind, you can break it and advance.
You are a teacher but you can be a head teacher, an inspector or a commissioner, you are a secretary but you can be a boss, you are a driver but you can drive your own, you are a youth leader you can be a President, you are a choir leader you can be a Bishop, you are a reverand, you can be an arch Bishop!
In Robina Nabanja, a class teacher in a hard to reach area in Kibaale, was a seed that would later germinate into a Prime Minister, in Judith Nabakoba a receptionist on a radio station lied a seed that would turn into a cabinet Minister, in Agnes Nandutu a journalist that was once stopped from covering parliament lied a Parliamentarian and a minister, in a ghetto boy called Kyagulanyi who was despised as a hooligan lied a seed that would later turn into hope for millions of Ugandans.
From a bouncer in Argentina night clubs, Jorge Mario Bergoglio turned into Pope Francis, from a comedian Boris Johnson became UK Prime Minister, from an exilee from Uganda John Sentamu became the Archbishop of Canterbury and from a black negro, once despised, Barack Obama led the most powerful country on earth!
Today you may be small, despised, challenged, broken down, devasted or even abused etc but the fact that you are alive means you are a seed that is not rotten.
You have the potential in you, to do greater and greater things as long as you are still alive.
However, for any seed to germinate, it needs a good and enabling environment; soil, water & warmth! For you to succeed, for you to move to another step forward, you need a good environment, the good people, the right information etc
For the seed to germinate to that level, it needs time.. you don't plant today and harvest tomorrow.. you don't graduate today and expect a job tomorrow, you don't get a job today and you want promotion tomorrow. For time is a factor in success!
There has to be a vision for a seed to turn into a million seeds. There has to be a purpose. You have to bear the vision of what you want to be, work for it and achieve it!
You have what it takes to become what you want to be in life. What it takes is deep inside you because the potential of a seed is in a seed.
Dream, Begin, Become!
