{UAH} Amama Mbabazi has for the first time spoken out on last last monthreleased cabinet.

Ex-premier, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi has for the first time spoken out on last last month released cabinet.

Before the public, Amama, also the former presidential candidate in the 2016 general polls, was to bounce back either as Vice President or Prime Minister.

However, he missed out, raising questions of whether he is still serving government or not.

Attending burial rites of his wife's sister, Joy Lydia Ntegyereize Zatwoshalo, the elder sister of Jackline Mbabazi in Nyakasiru, Bukinda in Rukiga district yesterday, Mbabazi said he is still a member of the National Resistance Movement – NRM.

He revealed that people have been phoning him, asking why he missed out on cabinet.

However, he said that he is one of the people who started NRM and can never exit the party and therefore, as long as the NRM is in the government, he is in the government too.

"It is clear that just like many of the people in Uganda expected me in the new Cabinet since I was seen closer to the President on several functions including the swearing in, the President of Uganda did the reverse and rather followed the footsteps of Jesus by choosing fishermen from the local people," He noted.

While addressing Parliament shortly after new ministers were sworn in, President Yoweri Museveni said he chose a cabinet full of fishermen compared to the elite whom he said he did not choose any.

The President likened himself to biblical Jesus who instead chose fishermen as his followers.
