{UAH} HOW SALIM SALEH HELPED TO DESTROY FDC

By Ronald Muhinda

Salim Saleh, like his brother Tibahaburwa, is very mischievous. There is more to seeing musicians, politicians, media personalities driving to Gulu to beg him.

Wherever Caleb George Akandanwanaho camps, it is to do clandestine political work to benefit his elder brother by decimating  opposition to his rule in that region.

The real work is clandestine. What is hugely publicized is a diversion to distract you from what he is exactly doing. Those people you see him meeting publicly are decoys.

The most effect will be against FDC in Acholi. FDC leaders should be wary of what Saleh is doing, given his previous behavior.

In 2011, after rigging elections, Saleh camped in Busoga and destroyed the entire FDC leadership leaving only their ally Abdu Katuntu.

As FDC and President Kizza Besigye were engaged in Walk to Work, Saleh looked at Busoga as a strategic area of influence for his brother's dictatorial rule.

In 2012, Saleh camped in West Nile. If there is a region FDC has real veterans, it was West Nile. While many thought he was trying to grab Barifa forest and many stories were written about it then, he left after completely destroying FDC leadership the region. There were also protests organised against Dale's intentions to grab Barifa forest.

After 2016 Coup, amid growing discontent in Kampala and Wakiso, Saleh camped at Serene suites in Mutundwe and almost wiped out FDC  leadership in Kampala and Wakiso.

Together with Kale Kayihura, Saleh also targeted activists in Kampala and Wakiso. Saleh now has absolutely firm grip on Kampala and Wakiso.

In 2017/18, after neutralizing Kampala and Wakiso, Salim Saleh camped in Kasese, the heartland of FDC for almost a year. He spent over 30billion in Kasese alone.

By the time Caleb George Akandanwanaho left Kasese, where FDC controlled the district and constituencies, FDC had lost its leaders.

From six MPs and the district Chairperson and majority council, I think now in 2021, FDC has three MPs from Kasese and lost the district too.

Saleh even targeted Busongora North, which many thought was most solid FDC  constituency in Kasese.

Saleh has never gone to Teso, another FDC stronghold. It probably has something to do with anti-NRA sentiments for the mass murder of Iteso after NRA captured power.

But I am sure with Anita Among and Jessica Alupo on one hand and Elweru, Angina, Echweru and Jeje Odongo on the other (forget about Mukula because Saleh and Mukula have similar habits), Saleh will make inroads in the region.

Once Saleh enters Teso, probably after Gulu or any time before 2026, FDC will be buried.

Tibahuburwa Museveni and Caleb George Akandwanaho believe once FDC is wiped, Uganda will become a dynasty like North Korea- even Museveni's grand son will rule over this land. That is why they make people beg on Camera. It's psychological humiliation.

Therefore, Saleh not leave Acholi the same. If there is any region  that can give Museveni asylum in Uganda today, it's Acholi. Yet it has suffered most under his rule and most ruined.

I really sympathize with FDC leaders in that region. If they make it again to Parliament, it will be hard work.

Did you hear someone from Acholi who claimed that FDC had lost some seats because of PLAN B? That is the work of intelligence feeding leaders on lies. Once lies are told repeatedly, they become truths.

Unfortunately, many naively believe it. FDC was blocked from Kasese for 5yrs after putting it under state of emergency from military attack on Obusinga.

I hope the leadership will focus on Acholi after Saleh is out.

Saleh's mission in Gulu is to end the duo-play of FDC and NRM in Acholi. Once FDC is kicked out, NRMilitary junta will be the monopoly in Acholi.

Even if pockets of FDC leaders survive, the Acholi land will not.

Ignore the publicized meetings. Those are distractions. Focus on the mission.

Those musicians are making noise. The real work is clandestine.
