{UAH} Woman kills husband after sex fight

WAKISO-UGANDA/NESADAY: A woman who denied his husband sex has killed him after the deceased allegedly attempted to force her into the act.

Police has identified the suspect as Saidat Naiga and the dead man as Siraj.  
Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire says the suspect was rescued by the local authorities from an angry mob after the incident on Saturday. 

Preliminary findings allude to the fact that the trouble was started by the deceased who was drunk and allegedly tried to forcefully have sex with the suspect which she declined prompting a fight.  

"Eye witnesses have told us that when she declined the husband attempted to eject her from the house and the fight ensued. The suspect picked a knife that she used to stab the deceased to death," said Owoyesigyire. 

The alleged murder weapon and other exhibits have been picked from the crime scene for analysis while the body of the deceased was conveyed to the city mortuary in Mulago for a postmortem.

"We want to urge couples to desist from using violence as a solution to every problem experienced in their families and to always consult local authorities if violence continues in their families," said Owoyesigyire.

More than 4,460 people were killed in 2020, according to the Criminal Investigation Directorate. Of these, only 160 were by use of guns while the rest were by stabbing, hacking or poisoning.
