In this book, the author takes us on a journey where he recalls stories of his childhood, falling in love, survival and unexpected acts of kindness.He narrates his father's ancestry from the Kingdom of Mpororo, and the immigration of his mother's ancestors from Buganda in 1797.He witnessed first-hand the transformation of Ankole from a feudal system to a democratic society and has riveting stories to tell about those who made it happen.He lived through the tumultuous politics of post-independent Uganda which included the 1971 Idi Amin Coup, the 1972 failed invasion, the Raid on Entebbe, the overthrow of Amin in 1979, the Tito Okello coup of 1985 and the Museveni regime. He witnessed the collapse of East African Airways at Heathrow, London and survived a kidnapped attempt at Stansted Airport. At each of these events, he offers his take on politics, war and the price he paid.Enoka Bainomugisha was born to Rev. and Mrs. Kamujanduzi on the 24th of April 1945 in Mbarara Uganda at the height of the Anglican Church's growth in Ruharo, Ankole.He Immigrated to Canada in 1990 where he worked for the City of Ottawa and Algonquin College and retired in 2014.
